Scrappy Monday and Black Sabbath concert!

Yes, you heard me correctly.  The hubs and I went to see Black Sabbath in concert! I will admit I was a little nervous as it's not really my type of music but since it was one of John's favorite bands I went.  So we saw Black Sabbath on Good Friday, ironic isn't it? haha  Here are some pics from the concert and my favorite part was seeing and hearing Ozzie sing.  He hasn't lost his voice and I'm sure it was one of the concerts of a lifetime!
Got my rock chick outfit on, I'm ready for the concert!

 You were amazing Ozzie!
John and I after the concert and me with my concert T!
Our next concert will be Huey Lewis and The News next month!! Cannot wait!!!

On more scrappy news I didn't have Scrappy Sunday but I can do Scrappy Monday! Here are some layouts I did lately

Hope you all had a happy easter!

Tribute layout

I made a tribute layout to our dog Skyler who had to be put to sleep in December of this past year.  He was 16 years old and was a cherished member of our family and it was very, very hard for me.  I still miss him and think about him all the time.  I had a picture of him and I and I love the sweet look on his face so I decided to scrap it and made a mixed media layout using the always fabulous stamps by Viva Las VegaStamps!
Isn't he the sweetest??? He is sorely missed.  You can stop by the Viva Las VegaStamps! blog to see the stamps I used.  Have a great day!

Time for transparencies again!!

Hi everyone, Glenda here with part 2 of using alcohol inks, Viva Las VegaStamps! stamps and transparencies!  I had alot of fun with these images and made them very colorful by using some bright alcohol inks.  For my first ATC I used the funky Pair of boots stamp

and stamped the image, using black Staz on ink, onto the transparency after the alcohol inks had dried.  I then found some patterned paper that I wanted to use

and then stapled my transparency onto the papers

Then I added some Hambly transparency as well as a quote and this is my finished ATC

For my second ATC I used the gorgeous Lady swimsuit back

and found some various materials that I wanted to use and stamped the image onto the transparency after the inks had dried

I stapled the transparency onto the papers as well as added some Hambly transparencies and a little acetate crown. (to color the crown I just used blue alcohol ink!)

I added some ribbon, gems and a quote and this is my finished ATC

I hope you enjoyed these and if you have alcohol inks and transparencies have a blast with them!  Until next time,

Happy Sunday!

Hi there, once again I am struck at how lame I've been at updating this blog.  It seems that I have lost my mojo but I'm trying to play in my art room today and I have forgotten how much fun it is!! Hurray for lazy Sundays in the art room!!

I just wanted to share some layouts I've done lately.   This first one is on my sister and I and how much fun we have when we get together
and then there is our family vacations, which I so look forward to every summer!!
and a layout on my ma and pa
and last but not least a fun layout on my ma
I also did a page in my art journal last night and couldn't believe  how long it had been since I had added to it. Yikes!! I need to start playing more!!! Life is just too stressful right now!!
Well that's the most I've posted in a while, so now I'm off to play some more as I am sooo far behind!! Happy Sunday!

Time for transparencies!

Hi everyone, today I have a tutorial on using alcohol inks, Viva Las VegaStamps!  and transparencies!  Viva Las VegaStamps! DT is having 2 weeks of ATC fun so make sure you keep stopping by their blog to see everyone's ATC's!

What I love about alcohol inks and transparencies is how you can see through the various layers and have fun layering things up.  Here is what you will need:

Stamps
Black Staz on Ink
Transparency
various patterned papers
ribbon
sticker
permanent markers
netting

The first thing I did was cut a piece from the transparancy in the 2 1/2 by 3 1/2 size, which is the standard size of an ATC.  For this piece I decided to use the fabulous SeaHorses facing stamp

and gathered the colors of alcohol inks that I wanted to use

and then I dropped drops of the inks onto the transparancy, making sure to use the rough side as it works better than the smooth side, especially when it comes to stamping.

You can keep adding as much alcohol ink as you like until you are satisfied with it how it looks.

You will have to let the inks air dry as drying them with a heat source will cause them to warp.  Once they are totally dry you can ink up your stamp with the staz on ink and then stamp the image onto the transparency.

Now you can have fun finding some patterned paper that you want to place your stamped image on top of.  I used these:

and then I found out that you can use permanent markers for coloring in portions of the stamped image! I also used some gold leafing as well.

After this I added some little pom pom trim as well as a sticker and some netting and this is my finished ATC

For my next ATC is used the pretty Sunflowers stamp

and wanted to use alcohol inks that would have the colors of a pretty green meadow so I used alot of greens as well as some blue and yellow towards the top.  I also use some Sakura gelly pens to color in my sunflowers and loved this effect!!

I then added a piece of Hambly transparency and used some alpha stickers to spell "flowers" and this is the finished ATC:

I hope you enjoyed seeing how to use alcohol inks and transparencies and make sure you pop back on March 25th as I will have two more to share using alcohol inks and transparencies!  Until next time,

Manly men....

I have a ton of stamps and I got to thinking that I don't have nearly as many men stamps as I do women and other various stamps.  I thought this would be a good time to pull out some of my Viva Las VegaStamps! man stamps and do a series on the opposite sex! haha

and I had these super cute little silk bow ties that I had bought from the Dollar Store and they fit on PERFECTLY with this stamp!! Here is a close up of the little bow tie, I love it!!

I hope you enjoyed these manly men ATC's and stop by the Viva Las VegaStamps! blog to see the individual stamps I used to make these!
