Travel is advised!

Hi there, Glenda here with an art journal page about what I would do if money were no object and I could do anything I wanted, and that would be travel! Of course it would be stressful because I have a fear of flying but hey, nothing a little medication couldn't take care of right?? haha

The new prompt over at the A Year in the Life of an Art Journal is this:

PROMPT: If you could spend your day doing anything you wanted and money was no object what would you do?

SHOOTERS: Shoot your mug in a setting that signifies what you would do.

BOOKERS: You know those alpha and
numerical sticker sheets we all have, that are sitting around with
missing numbers and letters doing nothing? Yep. Let's use them up.

I had fun using a bunch of foam numbers as well as the fabulous Viva Las VegaStamps Lady riding vacuum

and the gorgeous Viva Las VegaStamps Large bird flying left

and the whimsical Viva Las VegaStamps Row of stars

and I made this art journal page

It's nice to dream isn't it?

Another random post

The hubs and I finished watching Season 3 of The Walking Dead and it was sooo good!! I can't wait for October now for the new season. Since we are in limbo waiting for Sons of Anarchy to return as well as The Walking Dead, we have now started season 1 of Vikings!!
We just watched the first episode last night and so far so good! I totally believed that Charlie Hunnam, who played Jax on Sons of Anarchy, was one of the vikings but apparently it's not, it's Travis Fimmel! Go figure! Those men must have been seperated at birth for sure!!

Did 2 more layouts and I'm slowly getting more and more caught up! I'm now into October of last year! haha

I hope to have some more house pictures later this week and I'm also hoping for some crafty time! Have a great week everyone!!

Loud Noises!!

I don't know about you but I hate loud noises and I have what my mom calls "super hearing" (she has it too!).  My husband says I can hear an ant crawl! haha It is a pain though because I find normal everyday noises to be so irritating and my sleep gets disturbed ALOT. #&^$)#*&_)&_$$

I made this journal page dedicated to my super hearing using these fabulous Viva Las VegaStamps!!
The Large lightbulb
the Crime scene tape
The end is near
the Star pin
You can also find these 4 stamps all on Plate 924

and last but not least the Men in balloon basket

and here is my journal page
I hope you enjoyed my page and I had alot of fun making this!

A Year in the Life of an Art Journal

New prompt over at the A Year in the Life of an Art Journal and this is it:

PROMPT: My Walls. Do you have walls that you put up?

SHOOTERS: Shoot your mug in front of a cool textured wall.

BOOKERS: Use this texture technique to create a "wall" texture on your page. http://pinterest.com/pin/1055599884271045/

I am finally starting my new Dylusions art journal and I love the size and pages!!! Check it out:

Weeee!! Now I can do double page journal pages as there isn't a ring in the middle like the one I've been using. Plus I love the size of the pages which are 11 3/8 " x 8 1/4 ". My previous journal was a whopping 12 x 12 so this is going to be a real nice change!! There are 64 pages in my new journal so this will be awesome!!

I loved the technique for this prompt but I only had green tissue paper laying around but I still love how this turned out. I glued my tissue paper onto the pages and then sprayed with a few different kinds of glimmer mists and dylusions ink sprays as well as took a couple different colored oil pastel crayons and rubbed onto the crinkles, then added some other goodies to make a page on how I miss the carefree days of my youth.

I hope to see you come on over and play along with us!

Viva Las VegaStamps and Helmar Team up!

Hi everyone, welcome to a week of inspiration from the VLVS and Helmar design teams!! Stop by the Viva Las VegaStamps blog to see the design teams fabulous projects!!
I was lucky enough to have been given 2 fabulous products, the Helmar 450 Quick Dry Adhesive and the Helmar Decoupage and Craft Paste!
I loved using the Helmar Decoupage and craft paste to glue down a bunch of layers of different patterned papers for my art journal spread. First I collected a bunch of different papers that I wanted to use
and picked the ones I wanted and arranged them loosely on my pages

Then I used a foam applicator and spread the Decoupage and Craft Paste onto the backs of the papers and smoothed them down onto the art journal. The 450 Quick Dry Adhesive was awesome for glueing my chipboard "Why?" letters as well as my rhinestones! Once again I got too caught up in the creating and never took more step by step pictures so all of this leads up to this art journal spread:
I used the lovely Angel weeping over pillar stamp, the Row of stars stamp, the 6 Hexagon background stamp, the Crime scene tape stamp and the Star pin stamp by Viva Las VegaStamps! I also used silver stickles to decorate her wings:
and I don't mind that she got splattered with red ink spray either, I just think it adds to it. Kind of looks like blood splatters and gives more of a feeling of hopelessness and despair.

I hope you enjoy the blog hop and thanks for stopping by!

Scrappy time

I haven't been scrapping as much as I used to. Still. And I know a messy desk doesn't help get the creative juices flowing. Here is my desk before:
and here is my desk after I cleaned it (yes it's not perfect but then again neither am I!)
BUT.... it was clean enough for me to be inspired to scrap this:
So I was happy!! I'm now going to scrap another layout and yes I'm still on last summer. Hanging head in shame......

Basement walls are poured!!!

Yesterday John and guys poured our basement walls!! It's getting more exciting each week. Cannot wait until the house is framed!!! Here are some pics from the pour

I'm super excited!!! On a more craftier note I made this new ATC, how sassy is she??
All stamps are by Viva Las VegaStamps!! When I saw the dollar bills stamp I knew I would be able to have alot of fun with it!! haha

Viva Las VegaStamps! DT tryout....again!

It's that time again! Viva Las VegaStamps! is having another DT call and since I have loved serving my term on the DT I have to throw my hat in the ring again. I looovveee their stamps and have for many years and use them in almost all aspects of my crafting. I use them in my ATC's, art journals, scrapbooking and altered canvases.

In order to apply to be on the team I have to show 3 pieces of my work in this post and I chose some of my more recent favorite ones.

The first one I love is my art journal page called "painfully aware" using a few different Viva Las VegaStamps!
and then I also really, really love this ATC using the Viva Las VegaStamps mermaid stamp
and last but not least (man it's hard to only pick 3!!) I made a new ATC as well as a tutorial (I know, hoping to get more brownie points for this one! haha)

I used the "row of stars" stamp and the "shhh ladies" stamp.

I used glossy cardstock and cut out my pieces as well as a couple black backgrounds and then stamped the "shhh ladies" onto some white cardstock and cut them out.
Then I stamped the glossy cardstock with the blue alcohol inks
and then I added a few drops of gold pearl alcohol ink
and then I stamped the stars onto the cards using black staz on ink
and then the ATC's were ready for the ladies to be glued on!
and here is my newest ATC called "the more you can hear"
The colors look a little greener here because of my darn scanner. Also, I need to get some cardstock that isn't lined like the Bazill or American Crafts because I don't like seeing the lines on their faces. haha!

So, wish me luck and I hope to be asked to return to this fabulous team!

What if?

New prompt is up over at the A Year in the Life of an Art Journal
and here it is:

PROMPT: What if?

SHOOTERS: Shoot your mug with one of your what if's.

BOOKERS: Create a page about something you always think "what if" about.... use thought bubbles.

I love using thought bubbles!! I don't know about you but I have always wondered "what if" I would have gone on to university and taken something that I loved doing each day instead of what I do now. What would I have been? Where would I be now? I don't obsess about it or let it get to me but it is something that I have wondered about so I made this page using these fabulous stamps from Viva Las VegaStamps!

I used one of my favorite lady stamps, the Leaning lady

as well as the Man and woman symbol

(but I cut the man off and only used the woman! haha)

One of my favorite cleaning products lately is the new Mr. Clean with Gain scent, it is sooooo nice! When I have cleaned the kitchen and John comes in from outside he says "it smells so clean in here". Loooveee this stuff!

We have are halfway through the first season of The Walking Dead and I love it! We needed to start a new series after the Sons of Anarchy took a break and this is helping fill the void (I miss you Jacks!!)
Also, we have now officially started building our new house! yay!! Here are a few pics of the demo of the old house, it's amazing how fast it comes down and only rubble left!
Here's me pointing to our big hole! haha
Here's John and Michael getting ready for the concrete truck, time for some footings!! yay!!
And the guys on the job site
I can't wait to get into this house as this will be from here on after known as "Final Destination". This is the house I will lose my heart to. Put my roots down. Have a garden! I can't wait!!
