Since it's getting so close to Christmas I thought it only appropriate to make some Christmas inspired ATC's! I made a trio of them, as I'm known to do, and they each make me smile. Here is the first one
using three different VLVS stamps! I used the Cowgirl with tray, the Arched window and the Set of three ornaments to make this ATC
and here is a close up to show the red embossing I used for the ornaments
Make sure you stop by the next blog, that would be Hermine's, and check out her fabulous project and there will be a prize of a lb o' rubber and a Christmas grab bag for one person who comments along the way so get hopping! :) Here is the blog list:
Seriously, I am the kind of person who can entertain herself for
hours and doesn't mind being alone! haha I did an art journal page
paying homage to my "hermitism" and the neat thing about this page is
that alot of the paint was leftover paint from cleaning my Gelli plate,
and I love how the leftover paint created this background for this
project. All stamps are by Viva Las VegaStamps!
Here is the page with alot of left over paint from some other projects and then I stamped the grunge numbers onto the page
Hellooooo! We over at Viva Las VegaStamps! have teamed up with Die-Namites for a blog hop!!!!!! Yes, that's right! How exciting is that?? I was super excited to do my project and without further adieu here is an ATC I made
Does that look like one happy nun or what??? Just looking at this card makes me smile and feel the joy of the upcoming Christmas season!! Here is how I made this ATC:
I then stamped the Nun with hands up, cut the image out and colored her in with watercolor pencils. I got to looking at that cute little tree and thought why it needs to be decorated, just like a real tree!! So I got some pretty little rhinestones and glued them on.
as well as put a fabulous rhinestone starburst at the top of the tree. Bring on the twinkle is right!!
No wonder the nun looks so happy!! haha
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed my project. Make sure you pop back to the Viva Las VegaStamps! blog again tomorrow to see more!
I was given a copy of a book by Meera Lee Patel called Daily Zen doodles 365 Tangle Creations for Inspiration, Relaxation and Mindfulness by Ulysses Press for my honest review of the book.
A YEAR'S WORTH OF "TANGLED DRAWINGS" DESIGNED TO INSPIRE CREATIVITY AND SERENITY. With
hand illustrated prompts and thoughtful quotes, Daily Zen Doodles will
inspire you to lose yourself in the contemplative act of drawing. Each
page is an invitation to sketch, relax, focus and reach toward inner
What I love about this book is that I leave it out on the table and when I feel like doodling I can pick it up and do as many or as little as time allows. It frees the mind and takes you back to feeling like a kid again where there is no right and wrong in art, just doodling. The book is small enough to even fit into your purse or briefcase so you can doodle whenever the mood strikes!
I loved the examples at the beginning of the book, especially that wolf on page 8 - stunning!!! I decided to get out my pen and try a couple of my own. Here is my first one from page 35 (I went in no particular order, just flipped until I found one that I felt inspired to doodle on!) that I had fun doing - a sun.
After I got warmed up I then flipped to page 79 and did this cloud
If you like to doodle and want to try your hand at "zentangles" then you would probably like this. I like that there was a starting point on each page with a very simple outlined drawing that was for you to complete with the doodling.
Thank you Ulysses Press for this complimentary book and for letting me try my hand at the Daily Zen doodles!
I had alot of fun making this trio of ATC's using an "under the sea"
theme. Anyone who knows me knows my love of mermaids so of course I had
to make a couple using my favorite sea creature, the gorgeous mermaid!
Here is the first ATC using the fabulous mermaid stamp as well as the waybill invoice, the jagged chain link fence and row of stars.
If you look closely you will see that I used black embossing powder
for the jagged chain link fence and gold embossing powder for the row of
stars. I also glued some brightly colored beads onto the card as well.
Here is my next ATC and this was my first time using the fun scuba lady
and if you look closely here you can see that I also used the elegant flower
stamp along with some red and green embossing powder. I wanted to make
it look like there were ocean plants so this stamp was perfect for
that! I also used some clear acrylic buttons to look like oxygen
I love color challenges so when I saw the new challenge over at Inspiration Avenue I wanted to play along! What I love about color challenges is that I have to make myself use colors that I wouldn't normally choose and then I end up liking them! I used a bunch of stamps from Viva Las VegaStamps!, my Gelli plate, a bunch of paint and stencils and made this journal spread.
