Yes I'm still alive!

I just noticed how long it's been since I've blogged, wow! I got my issue of the Somerset Studio Art Journaling Oct/Nov/Dec 2015 magazine and am proud to say I'm featured on pages 64-68!! I love this magazine!!
I have also been on a concert run lately and was lucky enough to have won a meet and greet with Bret Michaels!
how cool is that right?? The hubs and I also saw Judas Priest on halloween night and Styx this past weekend! Rock on!!

Here are some project life layouts I've done and I really, really need to do some more art journal pages and ATC's... never enough time.

The hubs and I also saw Journey in concert in July, amazing!!!
 July in a nutshell!
 Life is good!
 Tribute to summer planting!
 Documenting movies I love!
Well that's about it for now and hopefully next time I will be blogging a lot sooner and also have some art journal pages or ATC's to share! Have a wonderful week!

Hey there

I'm back with not a lot other than a few project life layouts and some work funnies!
This will be me tomorrow. For sure.haha!

Alrighty then... enough funnies (but not really.. my soul really has had to struggle to stay alive) and onto the project life layouts I've done.  This was about our garage sale from the summer, good Lord... what you gotta do to get some  people to part with a dollar!! So glad it's over!! haha
And June... still loving documenting by the month. Of course my horrid memory has something to do with this!  Really loving the fun bright colors and especially the Project Life cards like the cat in shades and smiley face!!
 And hello summer!!!
That's about all I have, too much work and not enough time to play. :( How about  you, has your scrapping/creating been decreased for whatever reason?

Art journal pages and some Project Life!

I finally did a couple art journal pages and it felt good!!! It's been so long!! This one has a quote so it's my entry for the Three Muses challenge this week which is "Freestyle/Quote".

and this one has lyrics to a song I love, "Forever Young" by Rod Stewart
It felt good to journal again!!! Here are some of my project life pages as well
and last but not least (loving these cards)
I'm only a few months behind, not bad eh? haha

I bought a new set of Project Life cards from Michaels this weekend and it was called "Picturesque Edition" and I wish I would have known that the best cards were shown on the box, but there were a ton of blah cards inside. I got it for 50% off but I'm still not thrilled with it, it's my least favorite Project Life kit. So keep that in mind and try googling to see the whole set before you buy, that's what I should have done! Big Dummy!! haha

Other exciting news is my fishtank has finally cycled!! Can I have an halleluja?? Halleluja!!!!!!!! Not sure how many of you guys are aquariusts but if you are then you will know the thrill I'm having! haha I have a 75 gallon tank and so far it has 6 guppies, 4 corys and a red tailed shark.  I cannot wait to get more fish!!! I'll try to take a picture to post next time.

Have a great week everyone!

Scrappy Sunday

I totally suck at blogging. I used to be so good, so faithful, and now it's just so sporadic. I don't even know if anyone even comes here to read it anymore! haha

In the event that someone is actually here, all I have to share today, like usual, are some project life layouts that I have done.  I know, I suck!!  I will say that I am finally done scrapping our vacay and that feels goooood!!

Here is a layout about visiting the Sheikh Zayed Mosque in Abu Dhabi, beautiful place!

This next one is about our shopping trips, so much fun!!
and of course I had to document our good food!
This was a tribute to a watering hole we found that served beer (hard to find in Abu Dhabi unless you go to a restaurant) and we went there. A lot. haha!
This one is just to remember hanging around and enjoying the pool and relaxing with the family.
That concludes the Middle East vacay and now I scrapped our Def Leppard concert that we went to in April, it was amazing!!!!!!! Love those guys!!! They still have it and it totally took me back to my teen years!
Have a great day and a great week.

I did get some more of my vacation pages done though so that is a plus!! Here are 3 more of our trip to the Middle East, this first one I did on our resort because I don't want to forget how awesome it was!!!
This next one is about our kayaking in the Mangroves expedition:
and the last one is about our visit to Ferrari World!

Start Where You Are

This little book by Meera Lee Patel is gorgeous!
For someone who loves art journaling, like myself, this book really appealed to me because of it's compact size, the gorgeous illustrations/colors and hand lettering and the inspirational quotes.

When you first open up the book the very first page has a gorgeous watercolor look and quote by E.B. White and then on the other page it asks you to list 5 things that always, and immediately, bring a smile to your face.  I can't wait to start thinking about this because I know it will be hard to only pick 5 things!!! haha
Easy peasy right? That's how awesome the book is.  You don't have to be a professional art journalist, this book is for anyone and everyone.  It has simple everyday prompts to help you on your journey to self-exploration and I think it would be so neat to look back on it years later and see where you were in life and what your answers were.

You can order this book from here and it will be released on August 11th.  This would make a great gift for anyone who wants to go on a journey of self-exploration or loves art journaling.

Dust off your crayons and markers!

When I was a kid I looovvved doing Doodle Art, remember that?? I could lose myself for hours coloring in the intricate images (and who didn't love that black velvet??) and now I can have fun again with adult coloring! Yes that's right my peeps, adult coloring.

Since 2013 coloring books that have been made to appeal to adults have topped the bestselling charts selling more than 1.5 million copies in over 22 languages, which means that I can now let my inner kid color once again!

Life is stressful and we don't always take the time to just unwind and let ourselves do something that isn't tech-oriented such as watch TV or go on the computer.  Coloring is something that anyone can do, young or old, and all it requires is some crayons or markers and you are set to go!

What I loved about these books by Skyhorse Publishing is that the pages are perforated so you can either take them out of the book right away and start to color or if the page lays flat enough you can color it and then take it out later to display.  There is a 12 book series featuring vibrant illustrations that include paisley, mandala, art nouveau, zen, mehndi and whimsical designs so there is something for everyone!

I picked a page out of the "Whimsical Designs" book that had plants (can you tell I'm a plant lover??) and started coloring using markers and was immediately transported back in time.  I could almost hear Scooby Doo and Josie and the Pussycats playing on TV during Saturday morning cartoons!  Ok now I'm just dating myself aren't I?? haha  But seriously, it was very calming and it made me add a better assortment of Crayola markers to my shopping list so I can have a lot more colors!
and here is the start of my page
I can't wait to stock up on more markers and keep coloring.  If you would like to be transported back in time to your childhood and start coloring again you can find this series at  To see the full series when you are in just click on the Skyhorse Publishing link and you will see all of the fabulous books.

Adding to my project life

Hi there, it's been a while and I finally have some more project life pages of our Abu Dhabi vacation to share.  These have been sooo fun to scrap and I'm really loving the vacation themed cards and embellies I got.  I have been using quite a few different ones by Kaiser Craft, We R Memory Keepers Amy Tangerine, Becky Higgins and some others I can't remember?? haha I don't keep track of manufacturers anymore as I don't submit anymore so I don't really care who makes what! haha

and this camel ride was out of this world!!!!
Our resort was The Doubletree by Hilton in Ras Al Khaimah and it was a 5 star resort, we were in heaven!!! (can you tell??) I love these colorful cards.
and last but not least this layout and I love the soft green colors.
I am now on holidays and know I will be able to get some more pages done in between just enjoying life and kicking around.  Have a great day!

Double "WOW" factor!

What's better than Viva Las VegaStamps! I ask? Well how about Viva Las VegaStamps! and WOW embossing powder!!!  The design team was graciously given WOW embossing powder to have some fun with and we teamed up with the design team over at WOW for a swap!!  It's like I couldn't stop! I was an embossing fiend!! haha

I made 4 ATC's (see I told you I just couldn't stop!!) and here is the first one which happens to be my favorite of the series called "superboy".
Isn't his gold cape and boots gorgeous?? Here is how I did this.  First off I took a piece of white cardstock and some ink and smudged it on using green.  I also stamped out the little  boy in cape onto white cardstock and cut him out.
Next I took a stencil and used a darker green ink and sponge dabbed it onto the lighter green.
Now I went crazy and used a bunch of different colors of ink as I wanted this piece to be colorful!
Now the trick to getting his cape and boots gold was to also stamp the image using versamark and then I sprinkled the Pearl Gold Sparkle embossing powder and then heat set it.
Then I cut out only the nice sparkly gold cape and boots
and then I placed the boy onto the card (oops I missed telling you all how I also embossed the background using the waybill/invoice background stamp) and glued the gold cape and boots onto the original stamped image and then glued the boy onto the card.
Here is a close up of all the stamped and embossed goodness (sorry for the dark pic!)
Once again here is the finished ATC
Next up is this ATC I made using the grungey guy,  the not all who wander are lost  and the stars
stamp as well as the addicting Pearl Gold Sparkle WOW embossing powder.  I call this ATC "not all who wander are lost"
This next ATC is called "censored" and I used the banksy diving helmet boy, the row of stars and the censored stamp.  For the embossing powder I'm pretty sure I used the Pearl Gold Sparkle WOW embossing powder again, but I also have the Metallic Brass powder and I didn't write this down.. sorry! But looking at it looks like gold so we'll go with that shall we?
Ok, this last ATC is called "grow" and it's very different from my usual style but I liked the technique I used.  I made this using a variety of flowers from Plate 916 as well as Metalline Green and Nice Ice Blue WOW Embossing Powders
What I did to make this was to stamp some of the flowers using just plain colored ink and then when that was dry I used versamark to stamp other flowers on top, sprinkled different colored embossing powders on and then heat set.
Here is a close up
I wasn't lying when I said I got carried away was I? I would love to know which ATC out of these 4 was your favorite? Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed my projects.
