Under the sea with Viva Las VegaStamps!

I had alot of fun making this trio of ATC's using an "under the sea" theme.  Anyone who knows me knows my love of mermaids so of course I had to make a couple using my favorite sea creature, the gorgeous mermaid! Here is the first ATC using the fabulous mermaid stamp as well as the waybill invoice, the jagged chain link fence and row of stars.
If you look closely you will see that I used black embossing powder for the jagged chain link fence and gold embossing powder for the row of stars.  I also glued some brightly colored beads onto the card as well.
Here is my next ATC and this was my first time using the fun scuba lady
and if you look closely here you can see that I also used the elegant flower stamp along with some red and green embossing powder.  I wanted to make it look like there were ocean plants so this stamp was perfect for that! I also used some clear acrylic buttons to look like oxygen bubbles.
Here is my last ATC using the mermaid lying down
I hope you enjoyed the journey to the bottom of the sea and until next time,

Inspiration Avenue

I love color challenges so when I saw the new challenge over at Inspiration Avenue I wanted to play along! What I love about color challenges is that I have to make myself use colors that I wouldn't normally choose and then I end up liking them! I used a bunch of stamps from Viva Las VegaStamps!, my Gelli plate, a bunch of paint and stencils and made this journal spread.
Thanks for stopping by!

Love is grand!

Look at me playing along with a challenge again, loooveee it! The challenge this time over at Collage Obsession was "long hair" and I absolutely love this mermaid stamp, and she has long hair!!
Isn't she gorgeous?? Thanks for stopping by!

Love my Sid Dickens display!!!

Since we moved this past summer I am finally getting things the way I want them.  We purchased a wall unit that is in 3 different pieces from two different retailers and it was perfect for displaying my tiles!!! I have mostly Sid Dickens tiles but I have also discovered a love for Cedar Mountain Studios art blocks and of course signs (John says I'm sign crazy!) haha I also have some more tiles in a few other places in the house but here is my display in the livingroom
Forgive the grainy pic as I took it with my iphone...4.... that says it all right?? haha  I also love the industrial chic metal number "3" and ampersand... What does the 3 mean you ask? It's for my birthday!! I am hoping to add an aquarium to this wall display next year so I'll keep you posted!  Thanks for stopping by!

Three Muses & Wicked Wednesday challenge

Oh how I love lazy Sundays in my art room. It had been much too long since I was able to just make stuff and play!! Here is my take on the Three Muses challenge which was "fright" and the Wicked Wednesday challenge which was "things that go bump in the night".  I made an ATC and used 3 different stamps
Have a great night and thanks for stopping by!

Collage Obsession

I had a fabulous lazy Sunday in my art room and it was so nice to be able to organize and finally play along with some of the challenge blogs!! The challenge over at Collage Obsession was "bride" so I had alot of fun with this Viva Las VegaStamps! bride stamp.
I have a warped sense of humour I know!! But I hope it brought a chuckle to you!

Journal page and new art room pics!

Hi there, I made an art journal page for the Shopping our stash challenge which was to use something round.  I had these pages I had made using alot of paints and my Gelli plate and I also used a round stencil that I used black spray paint on as well as round painty circles.
It's a page about how much I love my new art room and I'll show you some pictures why! Since we moved this past summer I FINALLY unpacked (mostly) and am loving my new art room.
I love how spacious the room is and I finally have a place for everything and everything in its place (well mostly...don't look too hard! haha)
Here is my desk where I have my project life trays and the art journal page I just made above. It is very messy and cluttered so I guess I know what I'm doing after this blog post - cleaning it up!
Here is my computer desk and I love the bulletin board where I post my layouts/project life pages before I put them away. I like to enjoy them for a while!  I also have the canveses I've made surrounding that.  To the right is a bookcase that holds all my washi tapes, alcohol inks, art journals, stencils and some stamps in binders as well as my ATC binders and misc. items.
I love this area!!! I have all of my inks and mists on the white shelving and all of my wood mounted stamps.  The tall bookcase holds my scrap/art reference books as well as my punches and molding pastes, etc.  The cube beside that holds my 12 x 12 papers (most of them, I have another obscene pile on a bookcase....) as well as my Slice die cutter that has stopped working, my Gelli plate and some misc items.  Beside that is a plastic storage bin that holds alot of my chipboard and beside that another bin that holds pens, watercolor pencils, adhesives, and alot more crap that I cannot believe I have purchased and stored over the years. It's insane.
The hubs got me this white metal storage unit and I looooveeee it!!!! I have always wanted one like this and I pinch myself every time I look at it. He is the best!!! Love that man.

In the closet I have 2 of the white metal shelving units that John got me and they hold all my Viva Las VegaStamps! rubber stamps, stickers, chipboard and alot of stuff that I forgot I even had until I unpacked.  I got plastic storage totes with lids from the dollar store and I put labels on each one to organize my stamps.  I have one for women, men, objects, mixed media, letters/alphas, etc.. It helps me alot as I have so many that I'm not searching forever when I want a particular one.  Plus all the crap on the floor is stuff that I just couldn't deal with and will leave for a rainy day!! haha  It goes unsaid that I don't buy scrap supplies any more and haven't for a while, except for some project life stuff.  But even then I felt immense guilt as the stuff I have is crazy.

I don't  know about you but when scrapping was at it's peak and there were all the scrap celebrities and cool kids showing off the cool layouts and supplies, I just felt like I had to have everything!! It was insane.  I can safely say now that I don't go online to see what new stuff is out there because I feel good using up my old school stash and challenging myself to make it "new school".

How about you, did you go on scrappy overload and shudder now when you look at your stash?? Yikes.

VLVS Inspiration

Hi there, it's my turn to show my take on the Viva Las VegaStamps! inspiration piece and here is the inspiration
and here is my take on this piece
I can't tell you how much fun I had making this!!! I started off with blank pages that I painted green, sprayed orange mist at the top and let it drip down and then glued on some scraps of paper.
Then I used my Gelli plate, white paint and some stencils as well as stamped the numbers in black ink onto the pages.
Next I used a fabulous stencil I have from a book called "Stencil 101" along with a can of black spray paint.
and here are some close up pics of the project

and here are the fabulous Viva Las VegaStamps! I used: the coffee ring stain, the writing arrow, the censored, the one way, the stars, the adventure awaits, the insert your life story here, the french writing background, the arrow, the spotty background, the row of stars and last but not least the grunge numbers from Plate 1444.

I hope you enjoyed seeing how I was inspired by the November inspiration piece and would love to see your take on it!!

Viva Las VegaStamps & The Crafter's Workshop!!

Hi there, Glenda here and I was super pumped that the DT over at Viva Las VegaStamps! teamed up with the The Crafter's Workshop!!
If you know me you know that I looovveee using stencils and I had so much fun using 4 different The Crafter's Workhop stencils for my art journal project (Thank you The Crafter's Workshop!!)  Here is my art journal page totally inspired by the Journey song "Don't stop believing" (try getting this song out of your head now!) haha
I started out with a white page and used my Gelli plate and some yellow and orange paints to do the sunburst stencil and then used black spray paint for the cityscape stencil
then I stamped some images and placed them onto my page as well as cut out a circle using plain cardstock and used the "you are here" stencil
here is a picture of the project as it was progressing. I used a ton of fabulous Tsukineko inks too!
Here are some close ups

Now here are the fabulous The Crafter's Workshop stencils I used in my project: I used the Clouds stencil

and the skyline stencil
and also the "you are here" stencil

as well as the super fabulous sunburst stencil

and the amazing Viva Las VegaStamps! stamps I used for my journal page were the admit ticket
and the Banksy greatness spray painter (isn't she fabulous??)
and the wanderlust
 and the row of stars
and the checkerboard border
and last but not least the writing arrow

I hope you all enjoyed seeing how I paired The Crafter's Workshop stencils with the Viva Las VegaStamps! stamps and make sure you stop by the blog again tomorrow to see more projects from the Design Team!
