Adding to my project life

Hi there, it's been a while and I finally have some more project life pages of our Abu Dhabi vacation to share.  These have been sooo fun to scrap and I'm really loving the vacation themed cards and embellies I got.  I have been using quite a few different ones by Kaiser Craft, We R Memory Keepers Amy Tangerine, Becky Higgins and some others I can't remember?? haha I don't keep track of manufacturers anymore as I don't submit anymore so I don't really care who makes what! haha

and this camel ride was out of this world!!!!
Our resort was The Doubletree by Hilton in Ras Al Khaimah and it was a 5 star resort, we were in heaven!!! (can you tell??) I love these colorful cards.
and last but not least this layout and I love the soft green colors.
I am now on holidays and know I will be able to get some more pages done in between just enjoying life and kicking around.  Have a great day!

Double "WOW" factor!

What's better than Viva Las VegaStamps! I ask? Well how about Viva Las VegaStamps! and WOW embossing powder!!!  The design team was graciously given WOW embossing powder to have some fun with and we teamed up with the design team over at WOW for a swap!!  It's like I couldn't stop! I was an embossing fiend!! haha

I made 4 ATC's (see I told you I just couldn't stop!!) and here is the first one which happens to be my favorite of the series called "superboy".
Isn't his gold cape and boots gorgeous?? Here is how I did this.  First off I took a piece of white cardstock and some ink and smudged it on using green.  I also stamped out the little  boy in cape onto white cardstock and cut him out.
Next I took a stencil and used a darker green ink and sponge dabbed it onto the lighter green.
Now I went crazy and used a bunch of different colors of ink as I wanted this piece to be colorful!
Now the trick to getting his cape and boots gold was to also stamp the image using versamark and then I sprinkled the Pearl Gold Sparkle embossing powder and then heat set it.
Then I cut out only the nice sparkly gold cape and boots
and then I placed the boy onto the card (oops I missed telling you all how I also embossed the background using the waybill/invoice background stamp) and glued the gold cape and boots onto the original stamped image and then glued the boy onto the card.
Here is a close up of all the stamped and embossed goodness (sorry for the dark pic!)
Once again here is the finished ATC
Next up is this ATC I made using the grungey guy,  the not all who wander are lost  and the stars
stamp as well as the addicting Pearl Gold Sparkle WOW embossing powder.  I call this ATC "not all who wander are lost"
This next ATC is called "censored" and I used the banksy diving helmet boy, the row of stars and the censored stamp.  For the embossing powder I'm pretty sure I used the Pearl Gold Sparkle WOW embossing powder again, but I also have the Metallic Brass powder and I didn't write this down.. sorry! But looking at it looks like gold so we'll go with that shall we?
Ok, this last ATC is called "grow" and it's very different from my usual style but I liked the technique I used.  I made this using a variety of flowers from Plate 916 as well as Metalline Green and Nice Ice Blue WOW Embossing Powders
What I did to make this was to stamp some of the flowers using just plain colored ink and then when that was dry I used versamark to stamp other flowers on top, sprinkled different colored embossing powders on and then heat set.
Here is a close up
I wasn't lying when I said I got carried away was I? I would love to know which ATC out of these 4 was your favorite? Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed my projects.

Project life vacay layouts

I've been busy scrapping up a storm getting our Abu Dhabi vacay pics organized and scrapped and it feels good!  I also made a Picaboo photo book of our trip which I love. It was hard deciding which pictures to order and how many but what I did was broke it down into 2 page layouts for most of the stuff we did, which made it manageable.  Here are my pages so far:

First off is the airport/flight spread

and next was an assortment of pics from our adventure

and then was our adventure going up to the top of the Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world!! It was crazy!!! The elevator goes 22 miles per hour and got us up to the 125th floor in 60 seconds!! Then we went up to the 148th floor, what an experience!!

Next was our trip into the desert where we saw wild camels and had a blast doing photo ops!

Then we went to the Dhaya Fort in Ras Al Khaimah where we climbed to the very top of this fort at high noon, I thought I was going to die it was sooo hot!! Plus there are approx. 238 steps to the top and they aren't small steps!! Once we got to the top there was the UAE flag and we got a great pic!

I still have more to scrap but I have put a good dent into it! haha I hope you enjoyed my layouts and have a great week!

Manly Men

Since Father's Day is fast approaching I decided to dig into my bin of manly men stamps and pay homage to all the men out there.  I made 3 ATC's celebrating men and the first one is called "remind him" using the Viva Las VegaStamps!  man with moustache stamp and the mesh texture stamp
and here is a detail shot showing his cute little fabric bow tie
The second ATC is called "one bar on my phone" using the angry man stamp, the mesh texturedouble coffee rings and the measuring tape section,  and I must say I do agree with him!! Am I right??
Last but not least is one of my faves called "Ecolda" and I must put the disclaimer out there that my man acts nothing like this but I've heard from other women that their men do.  My guy could be almost dying and he wouldn't complain!! I used the man in gas mask stamp, the measuring tape section, the mesh texture, the scrabble alphabet small AND the paperclip!
Here are a couple detail shots of Ecolda
I hope you enjoyed these and happy early Father's Day to all the fathers out there!!

Scrappy Saturday

I know, usually I do a "Scrappy Sunday" post but how lucky was I to just play in my art room today? LUCKY!! I got two project life pages done which I love.

I must admit just like scrapbooking I have now gone overboard and purchased A LOT of project life stuff.... good grief.   I said I wouldn't do that again after the massive pile of 12 x 12 papers I have sitting here as well as purchasing the We R Memory Keepers 3 x 4 punch. God help me.

Hope you enjoyed my projects and now I am going to work on my Abu Dhabi trip!!! Have a great weekend!

Art journal page

I had fun making this art journal page and took pictures along the way as what it originally started out looking like and what it ended up looking like are two different things.

First of all here is my finished journal spread
and here is my page before as I like to use up my inky stencils and stamps on blank pages
and here I took my Gelli Plate and covered it with a pretty blue paint, then took my little took and made scribbles into it (lightly of course!!)
I liked how it looked so I did both sides

Then I took some beige paint and painted it here and there
Then I took some orange and purple paint, wierd combination I know, as well as took white spray paint and sprayed it thick and let it drip on the left side, and spray painted a stencil on the right side.
I'm obsessed with stencils and I loved this deer so I used black spray paint and put him on the left side and then again used some black spray paint to do the letters on the right side.
I added some stamps as well as little yellow circles of sheet music, which I didn't like and promptly covered up as you will see below!
Yes the yellow circles were horrid.  I used some tape and taped it onto the top of the left side as well as some camo tape on the right side, it's looking better now!
I was kind of loving the tape and I've had it kicking around for YEARS so I also added some floral tape!
Because I was on a tape roll I grabbed some washi tape and put that on as well.  I also found a tag (it's the door) that I had saved off a shirt I bought and glued that on as well as some other little embellies and here you have the finished journal spread again.
I hope you enjoyed seeing how this all came together.  That's what I love about journaling, if you start out with something and it's not working for you, just pile more things on and you can end up with something you love! Plus it adds layers and dimension to your pages.  Have a great day!

Cheers!

Hi there, today I made a trio of pocket cards using the fabulous Viva Las VegaStamps! stamps and I thought the theme this time would be alcoholic beverages.  I myself love a great red wine followed by some Coors Light. :)

One of the great thing about doing pocket scrapbooking, or pocket pages or Project Life, whatever you want to call it, is that the little 3 x 4 cards come already embellished so it makes them easy to use.  I had this little book of pocket cards
so I picked out 3 that I wanted to work with
and then I picked out 3 lovely stamps (aren't they gorgeous?)
and then I colored them in with watercolor pencils and arranged them onto the cards
The first card is called "leftover wine" using the large lightbulb and the distressed lady
and this one is called "say them anyway" using the pinup in stockings
and the last one is called "another glass of wine" using the pin up girl on phone
and here is my double pocket spread using all 3 of the cards
I love being able to customize my own pocket cards depending on what I'm scrapping and I found that these sassy sayings about wine gave it the humour I was wanting.  I hope you enjoyed my project and I would love to know which card was your fave!
