Baby It's Cold Outside Kit

This kit from Magistical Memories was perfect for these pictures I had taken from last month when I went to an Artist Trading Card session at our local art museum. The park was covered in snow so I took some pictures before going in. Everything was from the kit except for the 2corners of striped paper, the stickles, paint and circle stamp. How cute is that owl paper?? I didn't have a snowman to decorate so I put the hat and scarf on me! I'm funny that way, I know! ha ha

Mini Madness

Ok, I seriously had so much fun doing this mini using the Fun With Dick and Jane Kit from Magistical Memories it could have been illegal! haha I don't know if it was the fun and retro fabrics, the buttons galore, the neat journal circles and funky chipboard or all of the above but I felt like a kid again making this mini!! I used my own acrylic paint, a dymo, black marker, little alpha stickers, black chipboard alphas, a chipboard arrow, binder clips and the chipboard letters that spell "shop" but everything else came from this amazing kit! Just looking at this fun book brings back the memories from my recent trip in a fun way. This was the first time I have ever used fabrics and I am totally hooked now! I also sewed the fabric onto the front and back covers which was a first for me because everyone who knows me knows I am no seamstress! haha

RAK on!!

Okay, I have been wanting to do a RAK for a while and finally have the time and something good to RAK! I bought this Anna Griffin alpha set of acrylic stamps and have never used them!

I have decided that if they have been sitting in my scrap room for around 3 months and I've never used them, I probably never will. I would rather see them find a home where they can be played with and loved! So all you gotta do is leave a comment here and on March 15th I will pick one random winner to send them to. Easy peasy right? So who loves Anna Griffin?

Someone else's trash is someone else's treasure!

Paige had cleaned her room and had thrown this little wooden box into the garbage and I rescued it and pimped it up using my DT kit from Scrapper's Haven. I had made her a little skull trinket box before and now wanted my own. This is the box before

and this is the box after:

I really love the mix of leopard print paper with the funky skull papers, the contrast is great.

So I'm on holidays and

checked my email (I can't stay away!) and saw that Karen tagged me to play this game (and I'm a sucker for these kinds of things!). Here are The Rules:

You must list one fact about yourself for each letter of your middle name. Each fact must begin with that letter. If you don't have a middle name, just use your maiden name. After you've been tagged, you need to up-date your blog with your middle name and answers. At the end of your post, you need to tag one person for each letter of your middle name.

K - Kind, I like to think that I have a kind heart and usually am the one rooting for the underdog and the first to go "aawwww..."

A - Artsy! I love to play with my artsy toys! First I discovered scrapping, then ATC's and on my travels I picked up a book about journals and can hardly wait to get home to play. The book is called "Journal Revolution" and it has totally inspired me! Creating gives me joy and makes my heart happy!

T - Thoughtful. I mean this in two ways - the first way is that I think alot and find myself deep in thought about alot of things. The second way is that I try to be thoughtful of others and love doing little things or giving little gifts to show I love them.

H - Hermit - I can be a total hermit and made this one of my new year's resolutions - to get out more, live more, see more as you only have one life! I can so easily be found at home in my cozy flannels cracking a beer and need to get out more. I think I'm getting better!!

L - Loving - I love my family and friends immensely! I am a very loyal and sentimental person and have a huge capacity for love. Love makes the world go round right?

E - Entertaining. My peeps tell me I have a great sense of humour, love to laugh and make them laugh. In fact, sometimes my bf and I will laugh ourselves silly at work, much to the amusement of our coworkers. Yes, I think I amuse those around me with my sense of humour and I'll even laugh at myself if there is nothing else to laugh at! haha

E - oh man, just when I had to think of one "e" word now I have to wrack my brain again? hmmm...

N - nervous. Yep, I'm a nervous nelly. I have different issues like fear of flying, I can get nervous in huge crowds, have a fear of hights...etc.. I won't bore you with all the nervousness but you get the picture! haha

So now I have to tag some other people and I'm going to pick:

So have fun girly-o's and I look forward to seeing what you come up with (and who you tag!)

ps. looks like I kinda messed up. I just re-read it and it said to pick so many to tag that started with each letter but oh well! ha ha

I'm an ATC addict!!!

Ok, I admit it! Ever since I discovered these little babies I've been hooked! I attended the ATC trade at my local art museum last weekend and had my first trade, how cool is that?? I discovered that everyone has something to bring to the table so to speak because art truly is in the eye of the beholder. I came away with some gorgeous watercolor mini paintings, sketches, old photos & a painting done on bamboo.
They are planning to have another one in April which I am looking forward to. I think my fascination with ATC's is that if you don't have alot of time you can still get your creative buzz on and make some mini magic. Right now I haven't had alot of time to play with my scrappin as I have had some DT deadlines to meet and am going away to Calgary this week as well (scrappy stores look out! Baubles beware!! Handbag Heaven!!) woohoo!! Oops, I'm getting off track now, so by whipping off some mini art I still feel like I've played and been creative. So here are some of my fave ATC's I've done lately:

This is one of my all time faves, I just love the old fashioned pic, the title and of course the Hambly! drool, drool....
Here are some more:

So these are some of my faves right now and I'll keep posting as I do more, which will have to wait until I get back from Cowtown!

Love Rocks again!!

ooohhhhh, I had so much fun doing this little chipboard mini that came in the Magistical Memories Love Rocks kit!! The embellies and papers and all of the elements are just soooooo delicious!!! I wanted to do a mini on the people I love and this is what I made:

Everything came in the kit except for the foam arrow, journal stamp, white gel pen, paint, black marker and stickles. This kit is so amazing because of the way everything co-ordinates. Not in a matchy-matchy way but in a funky eclectic way!! Thanks for looking and letting me share my joy!

It really, really does! I got my DT kits yesterday from Magistical Memories and started playing with the Love Rocks kit and it is absolutely amazing! It is jam packed with embellies like you wouldn't believe and the papers are gorgeous! It also has a chipboard mini book that I'm dying to play with! Here is what I created last night, a declaration of my love for my shoes! ha ha

Now I'm going to play some more, bye!

Word Up!

I totally loved the word this past week as it was "create". And for me create is what I do, it's what I love, it's my passion! So it was a no brainer that I would do my layout on my scrapping using my awesome DT kit from Scrapper's Haven which included the Prima paintable paper. These papers are soooo much fun to play with! You can paint them, ink them, use watercolor pencils or paint, crayons, whatever your heart desires!! It really does bring out the inner child in you. Just looking at this layout makes me happy!
