ATC madness...

Last night was crop night at Scrapper's Haven and I went to town making these little guys! I am totally hooked on ATC's and just can't seem to get enough of them. I've started using stamping, watercolor pencils and more patterned paper in these ones.

The secret is out!!

I know I said I wasn't going to let you know until April 1st what my secret was but that cat has been let out of the bag! There is a new challenge blog that has entered the scrapping world and I was asked to be a part of the dream team!! Check it out here: Dreamgirls Challenge Blog

I am on a DT with Debbie Fitzgerald at Scrapper's Haven and she asked me if I would be interested in joining their team as a Dream Girl. I thought about it for like 10 seconds and was like hell yeah!! This is an amazing opportunity to work with talented scrappers from all over the place. I love being challenged and can't think of anything better other than being a part of this amazing team and joining together to challenge each other and others. So I hope you will all check out the blog as our first challenge will be posted on April 1st (and that's no joke!) Challenges are twice a month with RAK's for each challenge. The DT has been busy working on their challenges and making their magic so drop by the blog and leave a comment and you will be entered in for a random drawing of a RAK.

See you on April 1st!

ATC love

Boy did I miss doing these little guys! I haven't made some just for me and just for fun for a long time! I'm in a couple swaps right now but I don't count those because in 1 swap I had to make 9 and another swap 60! So it's treated more or less like an assembly line but well worth it in the end when I get everyone else's cool ATC's in return! This is my first time swapping, I'm a ATC virgin swapper! haha But I think after this I'll be sooo hooked as I was already on the SIStv boards checking out the new swaps! Talk about an addict eh? Here I am almost 1/2 way done the 60 cards for the sister swap and I'm already looking to join another one! It's a sickness! I'm also planning to spring another swap on the Scrapper's Haven girls after we finish up this one! hee hee Diabolical I say! Anyhoo, here are a few I had fun making tonight.

Another hint...

Okay, here's a sneak peek of what I have been hinting about. You'll have to come back on April 1st (no joke! haha) to see what it is and get the full picture. I can hardly wait to have it all unveiled and am having alot of fun with it, and I know you will too!

My first clear mini!!

I am still having a blast with the Magistical Memories kits and it is truly amazing how many projects and how much stuff are in them! I decided to have fun with the clear snowglobe mini that came in the Baby It's Cold Outside Kit and do it on friends at Christmas. It was the first time ever that I have done a clear mini and I loved it! All supplies are from the kit except for the letter stickers, xmas light paper, rhinestones, paint, star stamp and markers. tfl!

Here's a little hint....

Ok, you know how I said I was invited to be a part of something very cool and exciting? Well I can't tell you yet what it is but I can give you some hints. So here are some hints:

1. what do you do when you go to sleep at night?
2. What's another word for hopes and aspirations? and here is another hint:

Ok, clear as mud? haha Tomorrow I will give a sneak peek on my blog but that's all I can do right now!

On another note, I made my first art journal after being super inspired by those fab girls from Journal Revolution - art army unite!!

I have had alot of fun making some pages inside it as well and will share some in the coming weeks. The best part about an art journal is that it doesn't have to be perfect, the messier and funkier the better! I like the small pages for jotting down thoughts or doing little pages on whatever happens to strike your fancy. I used my DT kit from Scrapper's Haven to pimp the cover and had alot of fun using the goodies to decorate it.

I've got my own Holmes!

I had alot of fun doing this layout on the hubs. He watches the Holmes on Homes show on TV and I thought him being a carpenter himself along with this pic made for the perfect caption. It's funny because sometimes around the house I'll say "Homey wouldn't do that would he?" or "what would Homey say?" haha He kinda just looks at me like I'm nuts but he's used to it! haha

I have a secret...

but I can't share it yet! I have been asked to be a part of something very cool and exciting and can hardly wait to share it with everyone! Check back April 1st (and that ain't no joke! haha) to see what it is!

I love happy mail!!

Here is the happy mail that was sent to me because my "Love at First Sight?" layout won a contest at Scrapbooker Online!! woohoo!! The contest was you had to scrap about a love story and mine was about how the hubs and I met. It's one of my favorite layouts and has one of my favorite pictures of us back in the day! I finally have the Heidi Swapp bling frames! Until now I have been too cheap and have refused to pay the outrageous cost of almost 8 dollars for these but since I got to pick my prizes I finally splurged! I can hardly wait to play with these gorgeous 7 Gypsies rub ons too!

Don't we look just the sweetest? Check out the wicked disco turntable unit behind us! Rock on!

find ecstasy in life

I loved this fabric that came in the Magistical Memories March kit so much that I just had to use it as my background for this layout. I have never seen fabric as beautiful as this, I just wanted to roll around on the floor with it! haha The colors and design on it were so gorgeous and went so well with the flowers. Everything came with the kit except for the chipboard buttons, lace, stickles and journal pen. I did this layout for OLW challenge and the word this time is "find".

Paige mini

Woooowwweee!! Can I just say how fun and jam packed this March kit from Magistical Memorieswas?? Everything shown was from the kit except for the 7 gypsies gaffer tape and my Fontwerks alpha stamps, binder rings, ink, stickles & journal pens. I am a mini-making fool so when I got my kit and saw this gorgeous 1/2 page scalloped chipboard mini in it I almost seizured! Ok, maybe not seizured but I was pretty darn excited!

And the winner is.....

Vicki!! woohoo!! Congrats on your stamp win Vicki and I'll drop you a line to ask for your address. I put everyone's name on a piece of paper:

and then picked one:

and now Vicki is going to be able to play with these elegent Anna Griffin alpha stamps:

So congrats again Vicki and thanks everyone for playing along with me and visiting my blog to make a comment!

so Xtreme

Ok, don't you just love these new Xtreme papers by Bo Bunny?? They were from my DT kit from Scrapper's Haven. I love that they are perfect for layouts about guys and did this one on my son. It was also my first time using a mask and hello! Where have I been?? Now I'm kicking my ass I didn't buy that Heidi Swapp alpha mask set from my LSS when I had it in my hot little hands a couple months ago. Of course now they are all gone, serves me right! These masks are so fun to use it's crazy. I also posted a challenge at Scrapper's Haven today to use non-scrapbooking items on your layout and I managed to use 4 on this one: masking tape, drywall tape, a dymo label and a liquid paper correction pen!I was totally inspired by the Journal Revolution book in which they use all kinds of funky things and give great pointers and tips on different techniques. Because of them I made myself an art journal which I will post later this month. It has opened up a whole new area in creativity for me!

Tomorrow is the day that I will pull the lucky winner's name from a bowl and send off the Anna Griffin alpha stamp set that I am RAK'ing. Good luck all who entered!

Skull Love

Yep, anyone who knows me knows I have a love for skulls! Everywhere I go I am sure to always keep my eyes open for anything cool that might have a skull on it! Like my cool skull purse bling I found at Zellers. Yes, Zellers! Who would have thought? But it's one of my fave things. I have skull hoodies, skull t-shirts, skull shoes, skull scrapbook stuff and a skull tie (which I found at this really cool store in Calgary called Spencers!). So, when Debbie at Scrapper's Haven posted a challenge to scrap something using fabric on your page, I did this layout because I love the contrast of delicate crocheted lace with skulls!

Here is the skull bling on my purse (I just love this purse, it is the funkiest!!) that I fell in love with. It is blinged with rhinestones and really catches the light just beautifully.

And here is one of my fave skull hoodies. I think you get the picture....

Slowly but surely....

and don't call me Shirley! haha Ok, I'm very slowly making my way through the Dare book and I was going to go through them from the first to the very last but now I'm just doing them however I feel. I have had so many different things on the go from DT work to mini albums that I will just chip away at them as I see fit. This one was to scrap your shoes, your kicks, your funky faves and here are mine:

I really have to start on my Christmas pics though because let's face it, it's March! I don't know about you but Christmas and holiday pics are my least fave to scrap. I think it's because there are soooooo many of them and to me they just aren't as fun or artistic to scrap. So needless to say I sometimes approach scrapping them as a chore and I have put it off long enough. This week I have to pull out the Christmas pics and get busy. That and the acrylic album that has been mocking me from my shelf for over 3 months now......

My Girl

I just love these new teen papers by Bo Bunny! But what I love even more is being able to pick my creative DT kit (thanks Donna!!) from Scrapper's Haven . How lucky am I??? Every month I look forward to picking my kit and getting the supplies needed to make my items. This month I was on a full fledged Bo Bunny kick and made this layout on my daughter (thanks for posing Paige!)

This was my first time using the new Felt Fusion by Queen and Company too and boy is it ever slick! It's adhesive, not like the previous felt they had where you had to either glue, staple or brad it down. This was such yummy stuff!!

I was challenged....

by Karen to scrap these pics of her with the band (doesn't she look fab in those cool camo pants?) and in return she would send me some cool Tim Holtz grungeboard (Timmmmeeee!!!!)woohoo!!! So I made like a mad scientist and came up with this layout. I love the fun colors and zebra stripes and wanted it to reflect the decadence and wildness that a band has. So Karen, I hope you like it and I'm mailing it to you tomorrow girly! Thanks for a great challenge (and a challenge it was because there is always the fear of "what if she doesn't like it?", "what if she thinks it looks poopy?" etc.) and I hope I did your pics justice!

Baby's It's Cold Outside - again!

Imagine my delight when I found this little tree and cute chipboard bird inside the Magistical Memories"Baby It's Cold Outside" kit! It was perfect for these pictures I captured of a little bird that had lunch with me at a foodcourt while I was in Calgary. I fed him bits of my pita and in return he let me take some pics of him! Isn't he adorable! Everything was from the Baby It's Cold Outside kit except for the white snowflake background paper, paint, circle stamp and stickles. tfl!

Wanna win a Clip It Up?

Here is my Clip It Up in all it's glory!! Ignore the big mess around it, that's where the arrows come in, to draw your attention away from the disorganized desk and to the beautiful Clip It Up! I still remember the day I got my Clip It Up, I unpackaged it with glee, got all my stickers and embellies and started hanging them up, happy that I was now on my way to being more oranized. No more digging through my drawer for that certain embelly, now I would have things at my fingertips!

If you would like a chance to win a Clip It Up just like this, top AND bottom tier, valued at $85(items shown not included, have to do my disclaimer! haha), then all you have to do is enter the Iron Chef contest at Scrapper's Haven. That's right, not only will you be challenged and have fun, but you will have a chance to win this awesome prize!! Come on, whatcha waiting for? You have until March 31, 2008 to sign up on the boards to join in the contest. I look forward to seeing you there!

Word up!!

Man I missed saying that! Even though I just missed the last one because I had been on holidays I found that I really missed participating and being challenged. So the word this time was "time". And this is the first thing that popped into my head:

I can hardly wait until the next word. Yep, I'm hooked!!
