Skullie came to live with me!!

Ok, anyone who knows me knows I have a love of skulls and all things skully. So, when Angie Delarie sent Skullie to come and live with me I was soooo happy!! I mean, how cool is he?? You have to check out her fun stamps and the cool gallery showcasing her funky stamps.

I've been on an ATC roll so I wanted to try my first diptych, which is an ATC made of 2 parts. And since Skullie was too big to fit on 1 ATC this was perfect. Here is the ATC showing the division:

and here is the ATC pushed together:

Isn't he just the coolest? Thanks again Angie and when I do a layout using Skullie I'll be sure to post again.

Say goodbye to my little friend....

So tonight I took out my brow piercing (ouch!!!) after much deliberation and thought. I have such mixed emotions about it because I loved how it looked and it made me feel sassy. What I didn't like about it was how it got infected a couple times a week after having it for almost a year! I don't think my body liked it because after taking it out tonight the area was red and raw, not like a piercing should be for having it almost a year. Also, I haven't been able to sleep on the left side of my face since last July!! Hello!! That alone was almost reason enough to take that sucker out! haha

This is me last July with my new hardware!

Taking it out was harder than I thought. I couldn't get that little ball bearing to unscrew and the more I tried the redder and more sore my brow got. Just when I thought I was going to have a make a trip to the mall tomorrow to the piercing shop (um, hi, I can't get my piercing out, I'm a moron!) the bloody thing came unscrewed, halleluja!!

Say goodbye to my little friend!

So I have put Polysporin on the wound to hasten the healing as it looks pretty grotesque right now. I'm hoping by Monday it will look half ass decent for when I go back to work.

ps. this is me in my jammies! I love going home after work and getting them on! What a spaz eh? haha

I'm a little sad to see it go but the happiness I feel to be able to sleep on that side of my head, to be able to get dressed without catching it all the time, to wash my face and not keep hitting it, far outweighs the sadness. The hubs says he's happy it's gone as he thinks I look better without it. So, all in all in it's a win win situation. Hey, I wanted it, I got it, I ditched it. It's all good! I'd love to hear about anyone else's piercing stories too!

I did it!!

I finished the canvas that I had been working on for our livingroom using some supplies from my DT kit from Scrapper's Haven. It turned out better than I had imagined and am so stoked to hang it on the wall!!

I think if you click on the pic you will get more details. I started with a plain old white canvas from Walmart and then coated it with Gesso, which you can get there too and speaking of which, this is the first time I have ever used Gesso too. Pretty much like Modge Podge. Anyways, coated it with the Gesso and then let it dry. Then I painted a black edge around the canvas to give it a frame and then modge podged my papers and stuck them on. After that I went crazy with stamping (used 11 different stamps!!) and paint and embellies and voila! Love it and can hardly wait to hang it.

It's alive!!

Scrapbook News & Review, the newest ezine is alive and pumping some serious jam! And how cool is it that I'm on staff? Cool!! You have to check this out as it is full of scrappy goodness! Come on over and take a sneak peek at what SNR has to offer, you won't be sorry!

Life is a bowl of cherries!

I had so much fun with the Magistical Memories Estate Sale Kit and because I'm a mini maven I just had to do this cute little spiral mini! As soon as I saw the gorgeous fabric cherries I just knew what I wanted the theme of my mini to be. I love scrapping the everyday pics of people, places and things that are important to me. Everything is from the kit except for the dymo labels, foam arrow, stamps, paint and journal pens.

The smallest mini yet!

In the Magistical Memories Estate Sale Kit came these little chipboard ATC's, which I love, as I have been on an ATC kick lately! I looked at them and then the idea came to me to make an ATC mini out of them! It is the cutest little mini and it's the smallest one I have done yet. I love the mixture of the 7 Gypsies ATC stickers, buttons, felt and papers as it gives it such an eclectic look. Everything was from the kit except for the paint, binder clip, dymo label and journal pen.

I am such a mini maven it's ridiculous! I just seem to get enough of them. I went out last weekend and bought a lined wicker basket to put in my livingroom and that is where I store my minis now. I want them to be displayed, looked at, touched, enjoyed and maybe fawned over as well! haha

Magistical Memories Estate Sale Kit

Once again Magistical Memories have outdone themselves with an amazing kit full of scrappy goodness! I just love the way you can combine everything in such different ways. I had alot of fun last night making this layout and used alot of fun embellies. Everything came with the kit except for the gaffer & flame tape, brad and stamps.

I'm now working on these cool chipboard ATC's that came with the kit (and how convenient was that considering I've been on an ATC kick?) and hope to post them soon. tfl!

Strike!

So last weekend the hubs and I went bowling and it was soooo much fun!! It was so much fun that we said we should be doing it a couple times a month. We met 2 other people there and bowled 2 games together and when they left the hubs and I bowled a game alone.

And here is me concentrating on getting a strike:

and then they turned the lights out and we had "rock and glow" bowling, how cool is that??

Yep, beer and bowling, 2 very good things.

I'm really looking forward to the next game considering John won me by one point!! I'll have to practice up! haha

I have been waiting for my 2 DT kits to come so I have been feverishly working on some ATC's as I have joined like 5 swaps!

That's right, 5 swaps! For a girl who has never done one before I sure jumped on this bandwagon eh? Addicting to say the least! I ordered some awesome supplies from
this cool store and her shipping was soooo reasonable! One of the items I orderd was this book that I have been dying to get my hands on plus the new ATC transparancies and cards for the 7 Gypsies ATC holder. Let the fun begin!! woohoo!!

April Fools Day!

And this ain't no joke! Today has finally arrived and the Dream Girls Challenge Blog has premiered! woohoo! Our first challenge is to create a project that incorporates some form of the word DREAM. So your page can be about anything from your childhood dreams to the strange dream you had last night. You decide.

But wait, there's more... you see, we're always going to add a little twist or two to our challenges (insert maniacal laugh!!). So here they are:
You must use scallops or curves on your project AND you must use paint in some fashion.

Here is my take on our challenge:

So I hope to see you all drop on by and take part in our first challenge and come play with us!
