Just sharing some stuff

This weekend is the monthly online crop over at Scrapbook Star and the theme for this crop is "Time". There are some fabulous challenges so you should pop on over and check it out! My challenge was to "think back on something that makes you sad" so I did this layout using the Scrapbook Star March Kit:

It's about how my son hasn't been able to find a job since the fall. He graduated from his Welding program and had a short term seasonal job in that field and then since then nothing. He worked for my husband for a little while but it just seems like he can't catch a break. He has submitted resumes and even applied for dishwasher jobs and still nothing! And we wonder why alot of young people move away from this city. I keep hoping and praying though...

I played along again with the
These are a few of my favorite things challenge blog as well as the Scrapjacked challenge blog and made this layout on my favorite drink

What can I say? I'm a Coors Light girl.

I played along with the Created by Hand challenge blog where the theme was "are you wearing green?" and the Wednesday Stamper blog where the theme was "women's history month" and made this ATC

I used 4 different stamps for this ATC which I was quite proud of! I used the Tim Holtz postal stamp background, the Tim Holtz filmstrip, the Tim Holtz diamond background on which I used versamark and then used his mustard distressed embossing powder and then the woman was a Viva Las Vegas stamp!

This weekend we watched 2012

and I gave it a 7 out of 10. It was full of excitement and I could feel myself holding my breath at so many spots throughout the movie!! The hubs said he really liked this one as well. I don't really believe in any of it but I'm sure when December 2012 rolls around this will be on alot of people's minds. My mom says that the bible says that no one knows when the world will end so I take comfort in knowing these kinds of shows are just for entertainment. You can bet your ass though there are probably all kinds of zealots out there that are convinced this is true! haha

We also watched New Moon and I gave it a 7 out of 10 as well (John hated it and went to bed early). I liked it but to tell you the truth after all the hype I was expecting a little more. I can definitely say I'm team Jacob now though. he he Did you see his bod???

Oh, I am totally hooked on the True Blood series!!! A lady from work lent me her daughter's series 1 on DVD and I have watched 7 out of the 12 episodes. Think Twilight but waaaaayyyy smuttier!! It's so awesome!! Here's a clip of a scene from season 2 as I notice that season 1 episode 1 won't let me imbed anymore due to copyright....

Ok, are you hooked now??? I can hardly wait to finish the first season and start on the 2nd!!!!

One last thing before I go, I had said in my previous post about how I wasn't happy with alot of my Glimmer Mists clogging up, even new ones that I had just bought. So I emailed the Tattered Angels customer service and received a reply back that same day asking for my address so they could send me out some free replacement nozzles!! Now that's what I call good customer service! I know Making Memories gets a gold star from me for exceptional customer service like this and now I can add Tattered Angels to that list. I'm looking forward to receiving them so I can stop switching nozzles off the ones that do work to the bottles that don't work! haha

For those that have teenage daughters I'll leave you with this post, which is totally true:

TEEN AGED DAUGHTER OWNERS MANUAL Instructions for all those with teenage daughters or daughters who think they are teenagers or who will eventually be teenagers. Congratulations! You are now the proud new owner of a teenaged daughter. Please read this manual carefully, as it describes the maintenance of your new daughter, and answers important questions about your warranty (which does NOT include the right to return the product to the factory for a full refund).

IF YOU FEEL YOU HAVE RECEIVED YOUR TEENAGER IN ERROR: To determine whether you were supposed to receive a teen aged girl, please examine your new daughter carefully. Does she: (a) look very similar to your original daughter, only with more makeup and less clothing? (b) refuse to acknowledge your existence on the planet Earth (except when requesting money)? (c) Sleep in a burrow of dirty laundry? If any of these are true, you have received the correct item.

BREAK-IN PERIOD When you first receive your teen aged daughter, you will initially experience a high level of discomfort. Gradually, this discomfort will subside, and you will merely feel traumatized. This is the 'Break-In Period', during which you are becoming accustomed to certain behaviours that will cause you concern, anxiety, and stress. Once you have adapted to these behaviours, your teenager will start acting even worse.

ACTIVATION To activate your teen aged daughter, simply place her in the vicinity of a telephone or Instant Messenger. No further programming is required.

SHUTDOWN Several hours after activation, you may desire to shut down your teen aged daughter. There is no way to do this.

CLEANING YOUR TEEN AGED DAUGHTER Having a teen aged daughter means learning the difference between the words 'clean' and 'neat'. Teen aged daughters are very clean, because they take frequent showers that last more than an hour. They will scrub themselves with expensive, fragrant soaps which you must purchase for them because 'like I'm sure I'm going to use like the same kind of soap my mum and dad use', When they have completely drained the hot-water tank, they will step out and wrap themselves in every towel in the bathroom, which they will subsequently strew throughout the house. If you ask them to pick up the towels, you are confusing 'clean' with 'neat'. Teenagers are very busy and do not have time to be neat. They expect others to pick up after them. These others are called 'parents'.

FEEDING YOUR TEEN AGED DAUGHTER Your teen aged daughter requires regular meals, which must be purchased for her at restaurants because she detests everything you eat because it is like so disgusting. She does not want you to accompany her to these restaurants, because some people might see you and, 'like I'm sure I want my friends to see me eating dinner with my parents'. Either order take-out food or just give her the money, preferably both. If you order pizza, never answer the doorbell because the delivery boy might see you and, 'oh my god he is so hot'! Yes, your daughter's idea of an attractive man is the pizza boy.

CLOTHING YOUR TEEN AGED DAUGHTER Retailers make millions a year selling stylish and frankly sensible clothing which will look adorable on your daughter. If you enjoy shopping, you will love the vast selections which are available to you. Unfortunately, your teen aged daughter wants to dress like a pop star. You may be able to coerce her into putting on a cute outfit before leaving the house, but by the time she walks in the school door, she will be wearing something entirely different.

OTHER MAINTENANCE Teen aged daughters require one of two levels of maintenance: 'High' and 'Ultra High'. If your daughter is 'Ultra High', this means that whatever you do won't be enough and whatever you try won't work.

WARRANTY This product is not without defect because she has your genes, for heaven's sake. If you think this is not fair, talk to your parents, who think it is hilarious. Your teen aged daughter will remain a teenager for as long as it takes for her to become a woman, which in her opinion has already happened and as far as you are concerned never really will. If you are dissatisfied with your teen aged daughter, well, what did you expect? In any event, your warranty does not give you your little girl back under any circumstances, except that deep down she's actually still there, you just have to look for her.

OK....
My mind has been erased of all of the things I was going to say. You have succeeded in scaring the poo out of me. I don't want teenage girls and have no idea what I will do with them when they turn into one of those beastly creatures (although the convent is sounding promising.)
Thank you for the nightmares I will have tonight lady. SHEESH!
;)

{I really liked your *sad* layout. It made me feel sad before I knew what it said. You really conveyed the feeling. Well done!}

Glenda, always love your stuff (but don't have much time to pop in anymore). The teenage daughter stuff is sooo true! With 16, 13, and 9 year old daughters it's a constant battle with the drama;)! Hope your son gets a break soon - thinking positive thoughts for him. He's lucky to have such a caring Mom and Dad. Hang in there!

Hi Glenda!!
My name is Danielle, and I believe I've been to your blog before. I had it bookmarked. I am also in AYITLOAAJ, and I have seen your name and work many places!! I just wanted to introduce myself, and tell you I think you are fab!!
I LOVE true blood!! I think the 3rd season starts in June? and I just watched twilight last weekend too, and I too was disappointed.

I really hope your son catches a break soon. Times are so tough right now, like you said, poor kids educate themselves, and get no where. It is a crime.

I will DEFINATELY be back to visit!! Great to meet you!!]
