My head is like a football

I think I'm gonna die....gotta be me oh me oh my.....does anyone remember that song? Well that's how I feel right now with this damn sinus thing and it's getting worse. I did the old Sinus Cleanse but the water is supposed to run out the other nostril and mine doesn't kind of trickles a tiny bit and then stays in the nostril bubbling. When I googled this it said that means they are fully plugged and you need to see a Dr. for antibiotics probably. Since I have had this since Feb 12th I think I'm safe to say that's probably true. For those of you that have never seen a sinu cleanse, here you go (I don't know this dude, I got it from YouTube:

Just a quick post before I take to my bed with my box of Puffs plus lotion & Vicks (these are the best for when your nose is raw I swear!!!). Here are some ATC's I made earlier, this first one is for the Theme Thursday challenge which was "girls". I see though that they have already posted a new one even though it's still Wednesday, it must be because it's Thursday where they are. Oh well, here's my take on girls using more Viva Las Vegas stamps

This next one is for the Mixed Media Monday and the theme was "giggles/laughter" and right away I knew how I would use these stamps from Viva Las Vegas

the last one is for the Think Monday Think ATC and the theme was "let's dance". This John Travolta stamps was from Viva Las Vegas too (have I told you how much I love these stamps???) I bet you are singing this song now too right?

Also, for anyone that loves trading ATC's if you have a gallery of available ones and want to trade let me know! I made an extra of these 3 and have lots more available in my flickr gallery for trade (see sidebar)

A new prompt went up at the A Year In The Life Of An Art Journal and the word was "unknown". I have a big of a fear of the unknown. I like things to be stable, safe and predictable. So because of this I wanted my journal page to reflect worry and darkness so I used Glimmer Mist and made it drip and I love the lady with her worried expression because I am such a worry wart!!! I can "what if" myself to death!!

Yep, that's another Viva Las Vegas stamp! I think they should give me free stamps just for promoting them, what do you think? haha Later dudes!

Fabulous Friday

My vacation time is now dwindling fast as I go back to work Monday after 2 glorious weeks off! I have enjoyed my time and it will be hard to go back to sitting in my cubicle. Sigh.

Tonight is the online crop over at Scrapbook Star and it goes for 3 days so if you are looking for some fun and to be challenged make sure you pop on over there! The theme is "Olympics" and my challenge is this:

The Olympics is all about challenging yourself, pushing yourself to the limits! With this is mind my challenge is to scrap a layout using no pictures. That's right, no pictures! I used the cute chipboard rooster from Magistical Memories and here is my take on the challenge:

Last night John and I watched Couples Retreat and it was pretty good. I did think it would be much funnier than what it was but I still gave it a 7 our of 10. There were funny parts but I think I was expecting "Wedding Crashers" funny or "Hangover" funny for some reason?

I did say I would post some more pics of goodies that I bought while on my vacay so here they are:

Some new silver bauble rings from the Bauble Lady:

A new book on stenciling that comes with 28 cool stencils!

and I want to learn watercolor

and some Glimmer Misting goodness

and I have been dying to get my hands on the new 7 Gypsies ATC/Photo display tray, I can hardly wait to play with it!!!!

Needless to say I am now shopped out and am going to try and restrain myself for a few months!!

Now I'm off to organize my art room and put all of these goodies away, wish me luck!!

More stuff...

I have more things to report but couldn't think of a more clever title. Sad I know. First off it felt good to play along with the Think Monday Think ATC and the theme was "exotic" so I made this ATC

I think this image is very exotic. I mean hey, she's sitting half nude draped in jewels and satin with a black panther draper over her. It doesn't get more exotic than that right? haha I stamped the word "exotic" and then embossed with gold embossing powder and then used stickers to spell "lady".

Make sure you check out the contest over at Magistical Memories.
I'm borrowing Sue's words here which are:

February, being the month of "love" inspired both the contest and challenge this month. Here are the specifics. The title of your project must have the word L O V E in it and then each journaling line must start with an L, then an O, then a V and finally an E. Here is an example: Little tiny sunsets, Orange in color, Vibrant and romantic, Escape to paradise. Your project can be a layout, card or mini album. There are no color or subject specifications. Just have fun with this. The contest will run from February 1 through February 28. Upload into the contest gallery by midnight Feb 28 to get entered. It might be YOU that wins the FREE chipboard goodies Good luck!!

Here is my take on it using the Magistical Memories "Crystle Clear Ornate Swirl" that I painted using alcohol inks

This last project was sooo fun to make! I hadn't made a mini album in some time so I used the Magistical Memories mixed up book that came in a Magistical Memories discontintued kit some time back. This book is very similar to the All Mixed Up book that they carry now in that every page is different and unique, making it super fun to work with and look at.

I have alot of really cool t-shirts that I want to be able to look back on when I'm older and go "oh yeah, I remember that one, it was sooo cool!!" haha I hope this was as much fun for you to look at as it was to make!

Today John and I went grocery shopping and hoarded up on the deals. He was so sweet that the day I left to go on holidays the Sobey's flyer came out with some great deals on soup and a few other things and he even hoarded for me when I was gone! That's true love!!! haha I bought a sinus rinse thing today and am going to try it out tomorrow, I'll let you know how it goes!

I got my art journal back today from Somerset and was soooo happy to see it again! It had been so long since I had sent it to them for publication I had almost forgotten some of the pages in it. It was like seeing a long lost friend and I'm looking forward to doing some more pages in it as it's not even half full.

Well, I'm off to make something and tomorrow I have my head set on cleaning our bedroom and bathroom. I'm feeling a need to de-clutter and am going to go through my closet as well. How about you, has the spring cleaning urge hit yet? I think I'm peaking a little early! haha

There's no place like home!

I'm back from my holidays and had a really, really nice time. I always enjoy spending time with my ma and pa, even just doing the little things like hanging out at home, watching a movie, getting a coffee. I wish they lived closer so I always try to enjoy every little bit I can with them!

That being said there really is no place like home! I came home yesterday and brought along a sinus cold with me. AGAIN. I can't get rid of this damn thing. It almost lays dormant or something. I'm really considering getting one of those Neti pots that rinse out your sinuses.

Today is the new
Gutter Girlz challenge which is this:

I'm Still Sugar and Spice

One of the Boys by Katy Perry

Ribbon/Bows AND Dirty Socks

I made an ATC for the prompt

I used some of the lyrics from the song and made this ATC. I have this awesome Marilyn Monroe stamp and put some little pearls on her necklace. She was definitely not one of the boys!!

I also made a layout on my DD Paige using one of my favorite
Magistical Memories chipboard shapes which is the skull. I never get tired of that one!! Make sure you check out the fabulous Magistical Memories new releases as they are awesome! I can hardly wait to play with them!!

I just love how fun these Prima papers and die cuts were!! I got them from
Scrapbook Star, they have an amazing selection of product!!

I did this layout on me just before I left for holidays for one of my Glenda's Saturday Surprises over at Scrapbook Star. The challenge was to scrap a layout about yourself using at least 3 pictures.

Here are a couple new bags I bought while on holidays (you knew I would right?) haha
This is a gorgeous zebra Kathy Van Zeeland bag which is a sister bag to the other leopard bag I bought off Ebay last month

and this is a Point Zero bag which has a gorgeous purple color as well as awesome texture

of course my holiday wouldn't have been complete without a visit to the Bauble Lady (we call her that but she is a lady that has a booth at a flea market and has the most amazing baubles ever!!) and I brought back these 3 beauties

I gave the first one to my son's girlfriend (I saw her wearing it today and it looks gorgeous, it's purple amethyst) and my best friend picked the last one (black onyx and blue topaz) so I have the middle one! I love bringing back treasures for other people! I brought the hubs back a few t-shirts, Michael a hoody and t-shirt and Paige a t-shirt (I told her I would take her shopping for a new purse when I got back home).

My mom spotted these really cool metal skull lace decorations so I snapped them up and put them right on my runners and loooovveeee them!!!! They didn't even set off the metal detector at the airport! My mom always spots the coolest stuff!

Last but not least here a couple pics of me at Ma and Pas (don't I look happy & relaxed??)

Well that's it for now. When I get unpacked and organized I will post more pics. I have alot of catching up and blog hopping to do but it's good to be back!!

Hasta la vista baby!

So tomorrow I go on my annual vacation to Calgary to see my ma and pa, get pampered, veg, do some great shopping and just recharge my batteries. I'm soooo looking forward to it and don't know if I'll make a blog post while I'm away but I'll try! Anyhoo, big announcement, here is the new Magistical Memories Design Team announcement:

I'm super pumped to be continuing on and have really, really enjoyed my time with Magistical Memories. I started with them in November 2007 and have enjoyed every minute of it! Not only is their chipboard and acrylic pieces to die for but the people are so great to work with. Congrats to all the newbies and to the "oldies" and I look forward to another great year creating fabulous projects with you all!!

Before I go here is a funny email I got and it's like so true:

Here's a prime example of "Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus" offered by an English professor from the University of Colorado for an actual class assignment:

The professor told his class one day: "Today we will experiment with a new form called the tandem story. The process is simple. Each person will pair off with the person sitting to his or her immediate right.

As homework tonight, one of you will write the first paragraph of a short story. You will e-mail your partner that paragraph and send another copy to me. The partner will read the first paragraph and then add another paragraph to the story and send it back, also sending another copy to me. The first person will then add a third paragraph, and so on back-and-forth.

Remember to re-read what has been written each time in order to keep the story coherent. There is to be absolutely NO talking outside of the e-mails and anything you wish to say must be written in the e-mail. The story is over when both agree a conclusion has been reached."

The following was actually turned in by two of his English students:
Rebecca (PINK)
Bill (BLUE).

(first paragraph by Rebecca)

At first, Laurie couldn't decide which kind of tea she wanted. The
chamomile, which used to be her favorite for lazy evenings at home, now reminded her too much of Carl, who once said, in happier times, that he liked chamomile. But she felt she must now, at all costs, keep her mind off Carl. His possessiveness was suffocating, and if she thought about him too much her asthma started acting up again. So chamomile was out of the question.

(second paragraph by Bill )

Meanwhile, Advance Sergeant Carl Harris, leader of the attack squadron now in orbit over Skylon 4, had more important things to think about than the neuroses of an air-headed asthmatic bimbo named Laurie with whom he had spent one sweaty night over a year ago. "A.S. Harris to Geostation 17," he said into his transgalactic communicator. " Polar orbit established. No sign
of resistance so far..." But before he could sign off a bluish particle beam flashed out of nowhere and blasted a hole through his ship's cargo bay. The jolt from the direct hit sent him flying out of his seat and across the cockpit.

He bumped his head and died almost immediately, but not before he felt one last pang of regret for psychically brutalizing the one woman who had ever had feelings for him. Soon afterwards, Earth stopped its pointless hostilities towards the peaceful farmers of Skylon 4. "Congress Passes Law Permanently Abolishing War and Space Travel," Laurie read in her newspaper one morning. The news simultaneously excited her and bored her. She stared
out the window, dreaming of her youth, when the days had passed unhurriedly and carefree, with no newspaper to read, no television to distract her from her sense of innocent wonder at all the beautiful things around her. "Why must one lose one's innocence to become a woman?" she pondered wistfully.

( Bill )

Little did she know, but she had less than 10 seconds to live. Thousands of miles above the city, the Anu'udrian mothership launched the first of its lithium fusion missiles. The dimwitted wimpy peaceniks who pushed the Unilateral Aerospace disarmament Treaty through the congress had left Earth
a defenseless target for the hostile alien empires who were determined to destroy the human race. Within two hours after the passage of the treaty the Anu'udrian ships were on course for Earth, carrying enough firepower to pulverize the entire planet. With no one to stop them, they swiftly initiated their diabolical plan. The lithium fusion missile entered the atmosphere unimpeded. The President, in his top-secret mobile submarine headquarters on the ocean floor off the coast of Guam, felt the inconceivably massive explosion, which vaporized poor, stupid Laurie.

This is absurd. I refuse to continue this mockery of literature. My writing partner is a violent, chauvinistic semi-literate adolescent.

( Bill )

Yeah? Well, my writing partner is a self-centered tedious neurotic whose attempts at writing are the literary equivalent of Valium. " Oh, shall I have chamomile tea? Or shall I have some other sort of F--KING TEA??? Oh no, what am I to do? I'm such an air headed bimbo who reads too many Danielle Steele novels!"

( Bill )

( Bill )

In your dreams, Ho. Go drink some tea.

A+ - I really liked this one.

New rubber!!!!

Ahhhh, there is nothing like new rubber. Stamps that is! I got my shipment of new stamps today from Viva Las Vegas Stamps and am super pumped to use them!!! Here they are in all their red rubber glory

Here are some images that I stamped onto white cardstock so I can cut them out and use them for some ATC's. I stamped doubles so I can make an ATC to trade as well:

I could have stamped one more sheet of images but my ink pad couldn't clean anymore so I had to wash it out and let it dry. I'll try to stamp the rest soon. Now, which one is your fave??? I just love how fun and quirky these stamps are!! If you are interested in ordering any their 44% off sale ends this Sunday and the code at checkout for the 44% off is "superstamp"!!

So I finally made something crafty. I have been busy at work, home, etc.. and getting ready for my trip this Friday. I'm going to see my ma and pa in Calgary like I do every February and can hardly wait! I love hanging out with them, getting a Timmy coffee, enjoying my time with them. The shopping is also fabulous, I'm not gonna lie! haha I leave this Friday and will be back on Valentines Day. I joked to John that I would be his valentines present! He smiled.

Here is my layout, it felt good to get one done!!

I had that rub on quote for years if you can believe it! I'm starting to look around at my art room and think man, I need to start using this stuff up. This is crazy!!! Yet I buy more. Does anyone else feel like this??? I mean I know I'm a total food hoarder but shit, I can add art supplies to the list now!! Oh, I deleted the music to my blog. I still love the Goos but sometimes I think it interferes with just checking stuff out. Especially if I have other music clips I want to share. Hope it's not too quiet now!

Movie and Music Time

Yeah, since I have nothing really crafty to share with you right now I'll give you some movie reviews and let you check out these 2 songs I love by Marianas Trench. Where have I been, under a rock? Why have I just heard of these guys?? Make sure you mute my blog song at the very bottom of the blog:

Which one was your fave? Had you heard of them? Do you like them? I love them!

Now for the movie reviews, we saw "Gamer" this weekend, I gave it a 7 out of 10. It was full of action and Gerard Butler was easy on the eyes:

Then we saw "Whiteout" and it sucked. The movie dragged on and on and I couldn't give a shit towards the end if they ever got out of that desolate artic. This movie was a 4 out of 10.

I've saved the best for last, "A perfect getaway" was a 9.5 out of 10!!!! It was so frickin awesome. I was on the edge of my seat!!! Will I be hiking on a trail anytime soon? Hell no!!

There you have it! Glenda's entertainment for the evening, now I'm off to make something crafty!! Let me know if you've seen any of these and what you thought.
