Wonderful weekend!

It has been a good weekend. Yesterday the hubs went to an auction so I dropped him off and went shopping to one of my favorite stores: Winners. There is ALWAYS a winner at Winners. Found this fabulous artwork for above the fireplace
and it fits in perfectly with the rest of the house!
I also got that awesome Brit cushion and the blue plant pot from Winners as well! Love Winners!!! The house is slowly coming together just the way I want and I'm so happy!!

On a scrappier note, I did 3 layouts this weekend as well!! This one I had actually started a week ago and it sat on my art desk and everytime I would go into my art room I would do something each day to it, it was definitely a work in progress but I love how it turned out!!
I'm on a kraft kick and when I was at winners I found a slab. Yes I know I said I would never again buy a slab of papers but I had to buy this one as it was by Recollections and it was called "Love Letters". The beauty of this slab is even if you don't like the patterned side just turn it over and use the other side which is pure kraft! Genius eh? I got this pad at Michael's and they had them 40% off!!

Here's one of the pattered papers from that collection
and here is one that I flipped over and just used the plain kraft side (notice I'm also on a letters kick??)
So there is my kraft love! How about you, do you love kraft as well?

Still rollin....

Yes, so I made 2 more layouts!! I am trying to do major multi pic layouts just because that's how I roll, plus I have so many pictures and am so far behind. I have never been a "put one or two pictures on a page and scrap them" kind of scrapper. It just doesn't make sense for me because I would have a gazillion albums! I don't understand how people can scrap that way everyday, but that's just me. To each their own! I fit 7 pics on this layout
and I fit 8 pics on this layout:
This doodle paper was by Making Memories and I had fun coloring in it. It's very different than what I ususally do and I can't really say I love it, but it is what it is. Of course I had a very different vision in my head on how it was supposed to turn out and this wasn't exactly it! haha Don't you hate when that happens??? I do love my grandson's "Blue Steel" look though in the bottom right hand corner, adorable!!

Scrappy fun

I have now finished up my last Christmas layout! Halleluja!! I can't believe how far behind I am! haha I love this paper by Fancy Pants, it makes me smile:
I loved getting all painty with this one about my daughter and her friend, plus I love the color combo!

and last but not least I just adore this resist paper by Pink Paislee, love using my mists on it!!
So there you have it folks! It feels good to get a few more layouts done considering how far behind I am! haha

Update on our Philips TV saga: We now have a tracking number!! Hallefrickinluja!! It only took almost 2 months but that damn TV is now on route! We cannot wait to get it and give back the defective piece of crap we have been forced to endure. Would I ever buy another Philips TV? Not on your life.

Here is a picture of Henry from yesterday. When Paige and I left the house to go for breaky he was waiting for us to leave him his peanuts. I think we may be one more step closer to hand feeding!!! I have always wanted to have a squirrel and now we do!!
How about you, do you have any squirrels that come and visit you?

A Year in the Life of an Art Journal

New prompt is up over at the A Year in the Life of an Art Journal!! Here it is:

THE PROMPT: Once Upon a Time

THE STUFF: Share the fairy tale story/character you relate to the most. Give it your own personal twist like the ABC show, where Red Riding Hood IS the wolf...

THE TECHNIQUE: Crowns, Apples, Imagery that echos the fairytale story... use a page from the story itself...

This prompt made me think of the title "Beauty and the beast" which was perfect for this picture I had of my daughter and granddaughter and our dog Skyler. I am a sucker for crowns and love using them alot so I also added one to this page

The hubs and I went out and about yesterday and I went to one of my fave stores, Winners, and got this piece of artwork that I love. John said "it's a picture of nothing" and doesn't like it but I love it!! I told him it's called ART! haha
I love how it complements the red pendant lighting!! I also stopped into Michaels and got a few artsy things and immediately felt guilty as I have been on a self imposed ban because I have so much stuff. But I got some cool washi tape and a couple stamps so I didn't think that was too bad. It's not like I bought more paper right???

Oh, pinch me, I got my tickets to go see Marianas Trench next month!!!!!!!!!! Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!! Paige said she would go with me and I am sooo pumped!! I love those guys and think they would put on an amazing concert. Can't wait!!! I think the singer Josh Ramsay has such an amazing voice and they are Canadian!!! Here is one of their awesome songs:

and here they are
and this just made me giggle
I'm super pumped!!

Viva Las Vegas Stamps DT Tryout

Ok, so you all know how much I adore the Viva Las Vegas Stamps and that I am always using them in my ATC's and journal pages right? So how lovely was it to see that they are having a DT call?? I used to be on a few DT's but took a break from them since building the house and moving but I can't pass this opportunity up! So, without further adieu here are my tryout pieces using their awesome stamps:

It was really, really hard to only pick 3 projects as I use their stamps so much so I picked 4! Ok, I'm already breaking the rules! haha I'm hoping that my sense of humour isn't too wierd for them!
Wish me luck!

Snarky sayings swap

I joined a "snarky sayings" ATC swap over at ATC's for all and here are the cards I made for the swap:

I can't wait to see what cards I get back!

Artsy fartsy

So I'm putting aside some of my Philips induced rage to show you a few layouts I made last week.
I just love these papers by Sasafrass Lass!
Look at me!! I FINALLY scrapped Christmas!!!!! Yay!!!
I just love this one, it cracks me up!!!

I tried this recipe from Pinterest last week and it was a huge hit with my family and I will be adding this to my regular rotation!! Here it is here and here's a pic:

Awesome! I put 5 frozen chicken breasts into my slow cooker, half a jar of salsa, some dry taco and dry ranch dressing, put on low for 9 hours. I had to pour out quite a bit of liquid but then I shredded the chicken and then added some more salsa & I cooked on low for another 1/2 hour and this was an amazing dish!! Super juicy, tender and flavorful chicken! I put some chicken mixture in a soft tortilla shell and added lettuce, onions, cheese and some liquid ranch dressing and it rocked!!!

Philips has the worst customer service ever!

I don't know what we were thinking when we bought a Philips 50 inch LCD TV from Walmart, especially a Philips! Of course we said no to the extended warranty, as we have never had a TV crap out after a month a half!! So...the first month the TV was fine, then 2 weeks later it started having pixelly lines as well as bizarre colors and has only gotten progressively worse. So I called Walmart and because they only warranty TV's for 30 days we now had to go through the manufacturer. Thus the nightmare begins.

So I had to contact Philips and since there isn't anyone close to us who would come out and repair the TV (keep in mind this is a brand new 50 inch TV!!!) they would send us a new TV and the courier would take the defective one back. This was all supposed to happen in 5-10 business days and this ordeal has been going on now for almost a month and a half.

I have made numberous calls to Philips and have been assured that "someone" will get back to me, yet they never do. So I end up calling AGAIN, only to be told that now that they have had to make a new notation on our file that it will now be an ADDITIONAL 3-5 business days that I will be contacted in. What a bunch of bullshit!!! I have spoken with Josh and Jordan and the gang from Philips and keep being told the same thing in the same robotic customer service laden voice and I'm sick of it. I hate Philips with every fibre of my being and am warning you if you have a choice between any other TV please think carefully.

Here is what we are watching alot of the time
 What a piece of shit
If they think I'm going to go away they are sadly mistaken. I am like a frickin dog with a bone and will get this resolved. What kind of corporation punishes you for phoning in to see how your issue is coming along by putting you at the bottom of the queu???? Of course "Jordan" told me that if I haven't heard anything by Monday to give them a call back. Why?? So I can be told that now it will be ANOTHER 3-5 business days until I hear from someone??? I have never heard of such a thing before and this will be the very last Philips product that I ever purchase.

I'm on a roll!!

So I made another 3 layouts this week, 2 of which I did last night!! I hope I can keep going and then there may be a chance that I could actually get caught up enough to order my pictures from February on!!!!
I love how this one came together. I just had some random pics of me from last summer so put them together and called it "my style".
I know some may find this wierd (my husband did!) but no I don't really think they are my kids but I like to call them my "fur babies". I had a piece of paper that said "children" so I just changed the title!
I love these pics of Sam and I. He's my little man.

And there you have it, 3 layouts folks!! woohoo!! Let's hope I can keep it up. What about you, are you working on anything?
