I wish I knew then, what I know now

New prompt up over at the A Year in the Life of an Art Journal and here it is:

PROMPT: If my mug could talk

SHOOTERS: Take a photo of your mug with a list of the things it would say...

BOOKERS: Create a page with a photo of your mug. Use word bubbles to give your mug some words.

The only picture I had of my mug was one that was taken of me at work and luckily my little coffee/tea mug was on my desk so I added a little thought bubble.

I love the Katy Perry song "wide awake" so I also used some of the lyrics for this page. It's so true. I would have loved to have been a border security or border patrol agent. The hubs and I watch that show and every day would be so exciting and interesting, unlike my job. Don't get me wrong, I am very lucky to have my job but it's not exciting and it's not interesting. At all. Maybe in my next life??

A Year in the Life of an Art Journal

New prompt over at A Year in the Life of an Art Journal and here it is:

PROMPT: Good old days

SHOOTERS: Shoot your mug with some old photographs, or save it in sepia or black and white.

BOOKERS: Take a trip back in time and journal about something that makes you feel nostalgic. Distress your page with sandpaper, inks, etc.
I just love this unicorn stamp!!! I made an art journal page documenting my first tattoo, which was a unicorn on my ankle, and how perfect was the  Viva Las VegaStamps Unicorn stamp?? I am a sucker for unicorns and this is one of the most beautiful unicorn stamps I have seen.

Gorgeous right?? I also used my favorite Viva Las VegaStamps Line of Chevrons stamp

to make this art journal page

I love documenting stories in my art journal and was happy to now have this one documented! How about you, what's your story? Come and play with us!

I was happy to get my copy of the Spring 2013 Canadian Scrapbooker
because on page 76 my layout called "My new car" was published!!

I was also thrilled because I had used one of the stamps by Viva Las VegaStamps! and it's always nice when you get published from DT work! Here is my layout close up

I also made this layout on the weekend (yes, I'm still scrapping last summer!! yikes!!)
Have a great day!

So behind...

I am so behind on my posts!! Last month I went to visit my parents for a week and did some shopping. I don't buy patterned paper anymore or embellishments, as I just have too many, but I do allow myself to buy stencils and glimmermists and other special things! Some of the things I splurged on that I have been wanting for some time now are some new stencils by Balzer Designs!!!
I love Julie's designs!!!! Another splurge was some new mists as the Tattered Angels glimmer mists are just pissing me off. I cannot stand how the sprayers clog EVER SINGLE TIME I go to use to them.

These are fabulous!! Bright and don't clog!!! Another awesome thing I found was this amazing art journal!!!!!

How cool is this??? I only have one more page in my current art journal so I'm really looking forward to this new smaller size!!

I also have a bunch of layouts to post that I worked on. On some of these I had so many pictures that I was behind on that my main focus was on getting them scrapped not making works of art. But you gotta do that sometimes you know?
(on the one above I used the new stencil from Balzer Designs!!)

(as you can tell I love to ham it up and have so many pictures of me doing so!) haha
How about you, are you working on anything right now? Anything scrappy or artsy that you have been wanting to get?

I'm ready for summer!!!

I don't know about you but I am tired of the snow and winter and am sooo ready for summer!! I made an ATC celebrating summer and whenever I look at it I can almost feel the sun shining on my face and hear the sound of a lawnmower in the distance. Sigh.

I used 2 different stamps to make this, the Viva Las VegaStamps Leaning Palm Island

and the fabulous Viva Las VegaStamps Bird pulling strap

The first thing I did was to make a background using alcohol inks. Then I stamped the Leaning palm island onto that and colored it in with paints. Then I stamped the Bird pulling strap stamp onto white cardstock, colored it in with watercolor pencils and then cut it out and glued it onto the alcohol inked background. I had a piece of patterned paper saying "travel" which I glued on as well making this ATC:

I hope you enjoyed my ATC and can almost feel the sun shining upon your face as well! Until next time!
