A Year in the Life of an Art Journal

New prompt is up over at the A Year in the Life of an Art Journal and here it is:

PROMPT: The Bright Side

SHOOTER: Shoot your mug with the sun behind it.

BOOKERS: YELLOW!! Use some yellow on your page!! Drip it, splatter it, smear it, mask it, bubble wrap it... get BRIGHT!

I used a ton of paint, stencils, washi tapes and a photo to make this art journal page. All of the yellow truly does make me happy!!
If you have ever thought about playing along with us please pop on over and make something yellow!!

Say hello to my little friend...

I would like to introduce you to my little man Sam, isn't he adorable??? We adopted him from the humane society in 1998 and he is now 16 1/2 years old. Man I love this little dude.

I used 4 different stamps from Viva Las VegaStamps! to make this layout:
and here is a closeup

I hope you enjoyed meeting Sam!

What I love about blog hops is being able to see how everyone used a product in such a unique way! The DT at Viva Las VegaStamps! was fortunate enough to have been given some awesome Genuinely Jane Studios product to work on and let our creative geniuses fly! When I saw these Genuinely Jane cute little wooden boards I was immediately inspired to make a mini album featuring a few quotes that I love.

Here is the mini album I made starting with the cover

 and the 2nd page

 and the 3rd page

and last but not least the back cover.

I just love how this turned out and the eclectic look of it! I used a ton of paint, washi tapes, clear tapes and of course Viva Las VegaStamps!!! Here are all of the stamps I used:

Line of chevrons
 Star pin
 Quarter of bullseye/target
 Spotty background

the set of 2 pointing hands (right facing only)
 and the design solid circles
the fabulous birds on wire large
and the leaves blowing from tree.

Finally scrapped last Christmas!!

Yes I know, it's almost the end of July and I have now only finished scrapping LAST Christmas! haha I'm just happy that it's done.

yay! Feels good to get this done. Yesterday I found these beauties at Safeway again and just had to bring them home
and the house is coming along very nicely!! We are now at the lock up stage meaning it has doors and windows!! yay! I don't have pics of all the doors and windows but here is what it's looking like now
I can't wait to move in!!! I made lobster tails the other night for the first time! I was armed with a tail cutting tool that I bought from the dollar store and watched a you tube video on how to prepare them and they turned out amazing!!!
I am on my very last day of holidays and it's back to the soul sucking grind tomorrow. Heavy sigh. I try to remember the quote "don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened" but sometimes it's hard. Especially when I know the cubicle is looming. Happy Sunday everyone!

Hi everyone Glenda here and it's that time again! Time for a new prompt over at the A Year in the Life of an Art Journal

PROMPT: Freedom
SHOOTERS: Shoot your mug with some red white and blue
BOOKERS: Journal about what freedom means to you, and use STARS on your page!

It's funny because when I look at this art journal page that I did all I can think about is the USA, and I'm Canadian! haha I think it's because of the scrapbook paper I used that had the stars on it and the colors were the red, white and blue. Anyways, I had fun journaling about what freedom means to me and while I am grateful to live in a country (Canada!) where I have my freedom I do wish for freedom from other things such as worry, work, etc.. so that I could do things that I enjoy.

I used 4 different stamps from  Viva Las VegaStamps! on this journal page to make this journal page

and here is a close up of the lady with the cake (doesn't she look happy? Maybe she has the freedom to not work and can bake all day??) haha!
Hope you come on over and play along with us!

Another concert layout

One of my favorite concerts ever was seeing Marianas Trench live!! I love those guys!!! My DD and I went and I had such a great time hearing all my favorite songs and seeing them perform. I did a double page layout with a ton of pics to memorize this event!
Just looking at this layout brings it all back!!!

On the house front it's moving along and the guys are now working on the garage!
I can't wait until the roof gets on!!!!

Rock on!!

My husband and I have been going to alot of concerts lately and one of the biggest ones we went to was Alice Cooper. Yep, Alice!! We had a blast and I made a 2 page layout of the event using 4 different Viva Las VegaStamps! stamps. I wanted the stamps to be quirky and edgy, just like Alice, so I used the Viva Las VegaStamps! snake lady, and the man in gas mask, and the vampire and last but not least the danger skeleton to make this rockin layout

and here are some close ups of a few of the fabulous stamps!

Happy Canada Day everyone!!!
