Full speed ahead!

This is my 2nd challenge in a week!!! It feels good to be back in the saddle again.  The Three Muses challenge this week is ``shoes`` and since I had this funky runner stamps by Viva Las VegaStamps! that I hadn`t used yet I made this ATC:
I love how this turned out and if it wasn`t for the challenge I may not have used this stamp in this particular way. Thanks Three Muses!!

R.I.P. Sammy 1997-2014

I wanted to do a post on how we had to say goodbye to our second furry family member on April 4, 2014.  Having to make the decision to say goodbye to each of our "boys" was one of the most heartwrenching and sad things I have ever had to to.  John and I both took Sam to the vet to be put to sleep as he was over 17 and starting to lose his bladder control and was pretty frail.  We had said goodbye to Skyler in December of 2013 and now it was Sam.  I still can't think of them without tearing up and starting to cry, it's just awful.  I cherish the memories of them and was so happy to have had them in our lives.

We had a few nicknames for Sam just like we did for Skyler and some of them were little poppa, Sammy and Sambo.  We adopted Sam in January 1998 from the Humane Society and he was a loved member of our family for 16 years.  Here are some pics of my little poppa and he was truly my little man. I miss him so much.

I like to think that now both of them are together, running and playing in dog heaven. Because all dogs go to heaven right? Love and miss you boys.

My futures so bright.....

I gotta wear shades! Ok are you all singing Corey Hart along with me now?? haha One of my fave stamps is the Lid lady by Viva Las VegaStamps! isn't she simply fabulous???

I love her big shades, leopard print scarf and that big garbage can lid as her hat! haha  Since I am one who always wears big shades as well (they are prescription) I did a layout using the lid lady and a bunch of pictures of me in my shades.

I added some rhinestones to the lid lady's hat to decorate it up. I love her!!

I also made an ATC using the lid lady to show how versatile she is! Here are some pics showing how I made it.  first I stamped her onto some plain white cardstock using versafine ink

Then I cut her out and found some papers I wanted to use and put a sticker down the side of one side.

I love using painty circles to add some extra interest on my backgrounds and colored her in using watercolor pencils

Then I added a quote that I printed off from the computer and used stickles to glitter up her lid!
and here I made one card without using a black marker to color in her sunglasses and dress and one where I made the sunglasses and dress darker.  I think I like the darker what do you think
and voila, here is the lid lady on an ATC!  I added a little blue bow this time to her lid, isn't it cute?

I hope you enjoyed seeing how I used the Lid lady and until next time, Glenda

Scrappy Monday and Black Sabbath concert!

Yes, you heard me correctly.  The hubs and I went to see Black Sabbath in concert! I will admit I was a little nervous as it's not really my type of music but since it was one of John's favorite bands I went.  So we saw Black Sabbath on Good Friday, ironic isn't it? haha  Here are some pics from the concert and my favorite part was seeing and hearing Ozzie sing.  He hasn't lost his voice and I'm sure it was one of the concerts of a lifetime!
Got my rock chick outfit on, I'm ready for the concert!

 You were amazing Ozzie!
John and I after the concert and me with my concert T!
Our next concert will be Huey Lewis and The News next month!! Cannot wait!!!

On more scrappy news I didn't have Scrappy Sunday but I can do Scrappy Monday! Here are some layouts I did lately

Hope you all had a happy easter!

Tribute layout

I made a tribute layout to our dog Skyler who had to be put to sleep in December of this past year.  He was 16 years old and was a cherished member of our family and it was very, very hard for me.  I still miss him and think about him all the time.  I had a picture of him and I and I love the sweet look on his face so I decided to scrap it and made a mixed media layout using the always fabulous stamps by Viva Las VegaStamps!
Isn't he the sweetest??? He is sorely missed.  You can stop by the Viva Las VegaStamps! blog to see the stamps I used.  Have a great day!
