Viva Las VegaStamps! DT Tryout - Again!

I have been on the DT for Viva Las VegaStamps! since October 2012 and LOVE it!! I love their quirky and unique stamps, I love the people and I love making art with the stamps.  So of course I am wanting to throw my hat back in the ring as they have a new call out.  To be considered you have to share 3 of your fave projects and I had a hard time picking just three, so once again I was a rebel and chose 4!! haha  I also decided to pick from my more recent projects so here you go

Well there you have it folks! Wish me luck and I'm hoping to be asked back for another fabulous term!

The DT members at Viva Las VegaStamps! were fortunate enough to have been given some amazing Tsukineko products to play with and along with the super fabulous Viva Las VegaStamps I made 4 ATC`s!!

I will say that I fell in love with the Tsukineko neon ink pads, I think it’s the 80’s child in me which led to these two 80’s style projects.

The first one I made was the “super star” ATC
using the fabulous``singer back stamp`` which to me is totally Madonna!

I started off with plain white paper and then inked it up using Tsukineko’s ink daubers and the Memento Luxe Teal Zeal and Radiant Neon Electric Blue inks.  Then I had a little star stencil so I placed it on top of the card and used the Imagine Crafts Fireworks spray in Dandelion color and sprayed on top of the stencil.

Once that was dry I stamped my image into plain white paper using Versafine Ink and then colored her in using watercolor pencils.  I glued her onto the card and also added some die cuts and felt stars.  The felt stars used to be white but I colored them with the Radiant Neon Electric Pink ink pad!  I also wanted to give the card a little more depth so I sprayed it with the Tsukineko’s Goosebumps spray, that stuff is sooo cool!! Here is a closeup of the texture
and how nice and shiny the Fireworks spray made the stars.
My next project that was inspired by the fabulous neon inks was this ATC called “Mix tape”

I decided this time to do a resist technique using the Goosebumps spray.  I sprayed some Goosebumps on a dauber and then dabbed it onto the stamp.  Then I pressed the stamp onto a plain white piece of paper and let it dry.  Make sure you wash off your stamp right away because it will get sticky!  Once it was dry I then used the Radiant Neon Electric Pink, Radiant Neon Electric Blue and Radiant Neon Electric Green with some daubers and rubbed the different inks onto the resist image and all over the card
Isn’t that cool how the image of the tape pops??
Then I added some stickers, stamped the word “mix tape” onto the card using Versafine Ink and also inked the edges of the card.  This was a super fun way to use the Goosebumps spray!!
Because I could not stop using these neon inks I made another card using one of my favorite new stamps which is the Banksy Greatness Spray Painter

isn’t she fab??? Here is my “Achieve Greatness” ATC.
I stamped the image onto white paper using Versafine Ink
and then using the fabulous Tsukineko daubers colored the background in neon colors using the colors shown
Now you will notice that there is a white blob of something in the pic.  That was my attempt to do a resist using the Banksy greatness quote but for some reason it failed.  I’m wondering if it has something to do with too much detail in the quote or it was too fine of an image? Anyways, I didn’t want to throw this card away as I loved the background so I just printed out the quote on my computer and glued it over that spot and also used black ink to stencil in some dots, inked the edges of the card and also sprayed Goosebumps on for texture
  I love this card!

I made the background using Memento Luxe Teal Zeal, Memento Luxe Bahama Blue, Memento Luxe Dandelion, Memento Luxe Morocco and Radiant Neon Electric Pink inks and then I stamped the stars onto the card using Versafine Ink and glued on my man.  Once I had my quote glued on I also sprayed with some Goosebumps for added texture

I hope you enjoyed my ATC’s and thanks to Tsukineko for allowing me to have all of this fun and play with all of these amazing products!!!

Viva Las VegaStamps & Pan Pastels!

Ok, how exciting was this?? We were given some yummy pan pastels to play with and it was my first time playing with them, I was a Pan Pastels virgin!! haha I decided that I wanted to do two projects using the uber fabulous Running lady stamp
She looks exactly how I've been feeling lately so I decided to do an art journal page using her as well as these other fab stamps, the film strip stamp
and the one way stamp
and the one way small stamp
and the pylon stamp
and last but not least the arrow stamp
First of all I took a brick wall stencil and then sprayed it and then laid it onto my journal page and pressed evenly so I only got some of it (and yes I had to enjoy a nice cold beer while doing this)... also please forgive the dim pics as I was playing at night!
Then I took some of the orange pan pastel and used the sponge tool and colored when I wanted orange.
Now it was time for placement! I had stamped the running lady stamp onto plain white cardstock and then cut her out and placed her where I wanted her, and then used black shimmerz to create a black cloud above her ('cause that's how I'm feeling lately!)
then I got all kinds of other fun stuff as well as the cut out stamps and glued them onto my journal page.
and here is my finished journal page!
I also made an ATC using the running lady stamps and pan pastels.  Here are the materials I used
Once I glued the papers I wanted together onto a 2 1/2 by 3 1/2 piece of white cardstock I then took a stencil and placed it on top of the papers, and then using the sponge rubbed the orange pan pastels where I wanted it and sprayed a clear coat fixative onto it so the pastels wouldn't rub off
I also had a rub on that was really old and crappy and wouldn't rub on so I taped it onto the card using clear tape and then glued the running lady onto the card, smudged the edges using staz on ink and voila! Here is my ATC.
I hope you enjoyed seeing how I used these stamps as well as the Pan Pastels and until next time!
