A blast from the past with Viva Las VegaStamps!

I always love a good challenge, and when I was given this elegant flower stamp  by Viva Las VegaStamps!

I must admit I was scared! haha It was outside my comfort zone as I usually do projects that have alot of humour in them and when I looked at this stamp I thought "well what's funny about that??" haha  BUT.... it made me think outside the box and sometimes going out of your comfort zone is a good thing!!

For my first ATC I used plain white cardstock and then inked it up using green and blue inks
(I used a circle stencil for the blue dots!) and then I stamped the elegant flower with orange ink and stamped it onto the card
and then I sat and stared at it.  For a while.  And then I wanted to see some big black crows hanging overhead so I used the birds on a wire large stamp
with bold black ink
and then I outlined some of the circles in black, added some Hambly clear transparency and the word "crow" using die cuts and here is the finished ATC
Not so scary after all right? haha  I made one more ATC using the now not so scary elegant flower stamp  as well as the one way  stamp

and here it is
I had alot of fun making these and thinking outside the box and I hope you enjoyed my "blast from the past" stamp and that it got you thinking outside the box as well!!

New hair and new layouts

I have new hair and new layouts to share today!  I had been wanting to change up my hair for some time now so I chopped it off and so far I'm not missing it (ask me tomorrow when I have to style it for the first time since getting it cut though! haha)  Here is the new hair
I'm going to cross my fingers that I can duplicate this tomorrow morning for work!! haha

Scrappy Sunday, here are a couple layouts I've done lately

Have a great week everyone!

The Stampeders

Do any of you remember The Stampeders? One of the famous songs they sang back in the day was "Sweet City Woman" among others.  John and I went and saw them in concert last week and while they aren't my favorite band it was a nice night out and I enjoyed the show.  Here are some pics from the concert

I thought the drummer had an amazing voice!! He's the one who sings "Oh my Lady"

John and I heading out to the concert!  How about you, seen any good concerts lately?

I wanna new drug....

no not really, but the hubs and I saw Huey Lewis and the News last month and I forgot to share it!! We saw them on May 22nd and they were so awesome, just like they used to be in the rockin 80's! Here are some pics from the concert
Huey played a mean harmonica, it was sooooo awesome!!!!

I never got tired of hearing him play that harmonica!!

Another concert t-shirt for my collection!!
John and I going for supper before the concert.

We had so much fun!! Our next big concert coming up will be Fleetwood Mac and then John Fogerty!! Woop!!

Art journal fun

Hi everyone, time for some art journal fun using Viva Las VegaStamps!  I love using magazine images in my art journals and I had this really cool picture of a woman's face so I tore out the image of her eye and glued it onto my journal page.  I then added paint and inks to the paige so that you could just see the eye poking out.
G
Then I used a whole bunch of stamps for added interest and to help decorate the background
as well as a die cut and a sticker, some clear washi tape and a single rhinestone tear!  Here is the finished art journal page
and a few closeups of the stamps

For a complete list of stamps stop by Viva las VegaStamps!

I was inspired by the colors of the art journal page so I also made this ATC
For this ATC I used the Viva Las VegaStamps! Banksy painter, isn't he cool??? I love all of the new Banksy stamps so make sure you check them out!
