Viva Las VegaStamps & The Crafter's Workshop!!

Hi there, Glenda here and I was super pumped that the DT over at Viva Las VegaStamps! teamed up with the The Crafter's Workshop!!
If you know me you know that I looovveee using stencils and I had so much fun using 4 different The Crafter's Workhop stencils for my art journal project (Thank you The Crafter's Workshop!!)  Here is my art journal page totally inspired by the Journey song "Don't stop believing" (try getting this song out of your head now!) haha
I started out with a white page and used my Gelli plate and some yellow and orange paints to do the sunburst stencil and then used black spray paint for the cityscape stencil
then I stamped some images and placed them onto my page as well as cut out a circle using plain cardstock and used the "you are here" stencil
here is a picture of the project as it was progressing. I used a ton of fabulous Tsukineko inks too!
Here are some close ups

Now here are the fabulous The Crafter's Workshop stencils I used in my project: I used the Clouds stencil

and the skyline stencil
and also the "you are here" stencil

as well as the super fabulous sunburst stencil

and the amazing Viva Las VegaStamps! stamps I used for my journal page were the admit ticket
and the Banksy greatness spray painter (isn't she fabulous??)
and the wanderlust
 and the row of stars
and the checkerboard border
and last but not least the writing arrow

I hope you all enjoyed seeing how I paired The Crafter's Workshop stencils with the Viva Las VegaStamps! stamps and make sure you stop by the blog again tomorrow to see more projects from the Design Team!

Fun with my new Gelli plate and Viva Las VegaStamps!

I finally got myself a Gelli plate and had some fun with it!  I'm still a total novice when it comes to using the Gelli plate as this is my first project but I had fun and got messy none the less!  I started off by squirting 3 different colors of bright paint onto my Gelli plate and using my brayer to put the colors all over the plate
Then I laid the Gelli plate down onto my clean page and with my hand smoothed it down to get the paint to transfer.  As you can see by the circles I also used some stencils with black paint.
I also used more stencils with different colors of paint directly onto my Gelli plate and then transferred the plate onto the page again.  At one point I put white paint onto my Gelli plate and then lightly drew some squiggles and then transferred it onto the page, I thought that was kind of neat!
Here is my finished journal page:
I love the bright fun colors and loved playing with the Gelli plate! Here are some close ups

The Viva Las VegaStamps! stamps I used for this project were the hitchhiker stamp, the row of stars, the star pin, the not all who wander are lost, on the flip side and the chevrons.

I hope you enjoyed my journal page and until next time,

Mixed Media ATC's

Mixed media, in visual art, refers to an artwork in the making of which more than one medium has been employed.

One thing I love about making ATC's is that you can use alot of the supplies that you already use if you scrapbook, art journal, do canvases, project life, etc...  I also find it's a great way to use up all the little paper scraps we seem to accumulate (I get a ton!!).

To make this first ATC I gathered up some odds and ends that I had lying around
as well as the treasured Line of Chevrons stamp and the Showgirl with baton stamp and made this ATC
I also found another overlay as well as some pom poms and miscellaneous items and added them as well, but that's what makes the ATC have more depth and interest.  Don't be afraid to layer on the items!

I also made this ATC
using the Lady tilting head stamp as well as a chipboard piece, rub ons, some pattered paper and a rhinestone.

And last but not least this fun ATC using the Lady dress flying up stamp
using a project life card glued onto cardstock, some rub ons, a transparency, rhinestones and pattered paper.

I hope you enjoyed seeing my ATC's and that it has inspired you to dig into your stash and layer on the supplies!

Still loving project life

Just popping in quick to post some layouts and to say I'm still loving the ease of preserving the memories this "project life" style.
 and
and I love this page documenting what I'm loving eating and drinking lately
How about you, are you still scrapping or doing the "project life" style or both?
