Scrappy Sunday

I totally suck at blogging. I used to be so good, so faithful, and now it's just so sporadic. I don't even know if anyone even comes here to read it anymore! haha

In the event that someone is actually here, all I have to share today, like usual, are some project life layouts that I have done.  I know, I suck!!  I will say that I am finally done scrapping our vacay and that feels goooood!!

Here is a layout about visiting the Sheikh Zayed Mosque in Abu Dhabi, beautiful place!

This next one is about our shopping trips, so much fun!!
and of course I had to document our good food!
This was a tribute to a watering hole we found that served beer (hard to find in Abu Dhabi unless you go to a restaurant) and we went there. A lot. haha!
This one is just to remember hanging around and enjoying the pool and relaxing with the family.
That concludes the Middle East vacay and now I scrapped our Def Leppard concert that we went to in April, it was amazing!!!!!!! Love those guys!!! They still have it and it totally took me back to my teen years!
Have a great day and a great week.

Fall 2015 RubberStampMadness pub!!

Hi there, I just got my issue of the Fall 2015 RubberStampMadness and I am on pages 54-57!! They did a story on me and showcased 7 of my ATC's!! I feel so special!!! :)
My 3 week holiday is over, unfortunately, and this is how I'm feeling today as tomorrow morning I will be back at it... heavy sigh...
I did get some more of my vacation pages done though so that is a plus!! Here are 3 more of our trip to the Middle East, this first one I did on our resort because I don't want to forget how awesome it was!!!
This next one is about our kayaking in the Mangroves expedition:
and the last one is about our visit to Ferrari World!
Happy Sunday everyone!

Start Where You Are

This little book by Meera Lee Patel is gorgeous!
For someone who loves art journaling, like myself, this book really appealed to me because of it's compact size, the gorgeous illustrations/colors and hand lettering and the inspirational quotes.

When you first open up the book the very first page has a gorgeous watercolor look and quote by E.B. White and then on the other page it asks you to list 5 things that always, and immediately, bring a smile to your face.  I can't wait to start thinking about this because I know it will be hard to only pick 5 things!!! haha
Easy peasy right? That's how awesome the book is.  You don't have to be a professional art journalist, this book is for anyone and everyone.  It has simple everyday prompts to help you on your journey to self-exploration and I think it would be so neat to look back on it years later and see where you were in life and what your answers were.

You can order this book from here and it will be released on August 11th.  This would make a great gift for anyone who wants to go on a journey of self-exploration or loves art journaling.

Dust off your crayons and markers!

When I was a kid I looovvved doing Doodle Art, remember that?? I could lose myself for hours coloring in the intricate images (and who didn't love that black velvet??) and now I can have fun again with adult coloring! Yes that's right my peeps, adult coloring.

Since 2013 coloring books that have been made to appeal to adults have topped the bestselling charts selling more than 1.5 million copies in over 22 languages, which means that I can now let my inner kid color once again!

Life is stressful and we don't always take the time to just unwind and let ourselves do something that isn't tech-oriented such as watch TV or go on the computer.  Coloring is something that anyone can do, young or old, and all it requires is some crayons or markers and you are set to go!

What I loved about these books by Skyhorse Publishing is that the pages are perforated so you can either take them out of the book right away and start to color or if the page lays flat enough you can color it and then take it out later to display.  There is a 12 book series featuring vibrant illustrations that include paisley, mandala, art nouveau, zen, mehndi and whimsical designs so there is something for everyone!

I picked a page out of the "Whimsical Designs" book that had plants (can you tell I'm a plant lover??) and started coloring using markers and was immediately transported back in time.  I could almost hear Scooby Doo and Josie and the Pussycats playing on TV during Saturday morning cartoons!  Ok now I'm just dating myself aren't I?? haha  But seriously, it was very calming and it made me add a better assortment of Crayola markers to my shopping list so I can have a lot more colors!
and here is the start of my page
I can't wait to stock up on more markers and keep coloring.  If you would like to be transported back in time to your childhood and start coloring again you can find this series at  To see the full series when you are in just click on the Skyhorse Publishing link and you will see all of the fabulous books.
