Project life vacay layouts

I've been busy scrapping up a storm getting our Abu Dhabi vacay pics organized and scrapped and it feels good!  I also made a Picaboo photo book of our trip which I love. It was hard deciding which pictures to order and how many but what I did was broke it down into 2 page layouts for most of the stuff we did, which made it manageable.  Here are my pages so far:

First off is the airport/flight spread

and next was an assortment of pics from our adventure

and then was our adventure going up to the top of the Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world!! It was crazy!!! The elevator goes 22 miles per hour and got us up to the 125th floor in 60 seconds!! Then we went up to the 148th floor, what an experience!!

Next was our trip into the desert where we saw wild camels and had a blast doing photo ops!

Then we went to the Dhaya Fort in Ras Al Khaimah where we climbed to the very top of this fort at high noon, I thought I was going to die it was sooo hot!! Plus there are approx. 238 steps to the top and they aren't small steps!! Once we got to the top there was the UAE flag and we got a great pic!

I still have more to scrap but I have put a good dent into it! haha I hope you enjoyed my layouts and have a great week!

Manly Men

Since Father's Day is fast approaching I decided to dig into my bin of manly men stamps and pay homage to all the men out there.  I made 3 ATC's celebrating men and the first one is called "remind him" using the Viva Las VegaStamps!  man with moustache stamp and the mesh texture stamp
and here is a detail shot showing his cute little fabric bow tie
The second ATC is called "one bar on my phone" using the angry man stamp, the mesh texturedouble coffee rings and the measuring tape section,  and I must say I do agree with him!! Am I right??
Last but not least is one of my faves called "Ecolda" and I must put the disclaimer out there that my man acts nothing like this but I've heard from other women that their men do.  My guy could be almost dying and he wouldn't complain!! I used the man in gas mask stamp, the measuring tape section, the mesh texture, the scrabble alphabet small AND the paperclip!
Here are a couple detail shots of Ecolda
I hope you enjoyed these and happy early Father's Day to all the fathers out there!!

Scrappy Saturday

I know, usually I do a "Scrappy Sunday" post but how lucky was I to just play in my art room today? LUCKY!! I got two project life pages done which I love.

I must admit just like scrapbooking I have now gone overboard and purchased A LOT of project life stuff.... good grief.   I said I wouldn't do that again after the massive pile of 12 x 12 papers I have sitting here as well as purchasing the We R Memory Keepers 3 x 4 punch. God help me.

Hope you enjoyed my projects and now I am going to work on my Abu Dhabi trip!!! Have a great weekend!

Art journal page

I had fun making this art journal page and took pictures along the way as what it originally started out looking like and what it ended up looking like are two different things.

First of all here is my finished journal spread
and here is my page before as I like to use up my inky stencils and stamps on blank pages
and here I took my Gelli Plate and covered it with a pretty blue paint, then took my little took and made scribbles into it (lightly of course!!)
I liked how it looked so I did both sides

Then I took some beige paint and painted it here and there
Then I took some orange and purple paint, wierd combination I know, as well as took white spray paint and sprayed it thick and let it drip on the left side, and spray painted a stencil on the right side.
I'm obsessed with stencils and I loved this deer so I used black spray paint and put him on the left side and then again used some black spray paint to do the letters on the right side.
I added some stamps as well as little yellow circles of sheet music, which I didn't like and promptly covered up as you will see below!
Yes the yellow circles were horrid.  I used some tape and taped it onto the top of the left side as well as some camo tape on the right side, it's looking better now!
I was kind of loving the tape and I've had it kicking around for YEARS so I also added some floral tape!
Because I was on a tape roll I grabbed some washi tape and put that on as well.  I also found a tag (it's the door) that I had saved off a shirt I bought and glued that on as well as some other little embellies and here you have the finished journal spread again.
I hope you enjoyed seeing how this all came together.  That's what I love about journaling, if you start out with something and it's not working for you, just pile more things on and you can end up with something you love! Plus it adds layers and dimension to your pages.  Have a great day!

Cheers!

Hi there, today I made a trio of pocket cards using the fabulous Viva Las VegaStamps! stamps and I thought the theme this time would be alcoholic beverages.  I myself love a great red wine followed by some Coors Light. :)

One of the great thing about doing pocket scrapbooking, or pocket pages or Project Life, whatever you want to call it, is that the little 3 x 4 cards come already embellished so it makes them easy to use.  I had this little book of pocket cards
so I picked out 3 that I wanted to work with
and then I picked out 3 lovely stamps (aren't they gorgeous?)
and then I colored them in with watercolor pencils and arranged them onto the cards
The first card is called "leftover wine" using the large lightbulb and the distressed lady
and this one is called "say them anyway" using the pinup in stockings
and the last one is called "another glass of wine" using the pin up girl on phone
and here is my double pocket spread using all 3 of the cards
I love being able to customize my own pocket cards depending on what I'm scrapping and I found that these sassy sayings about wine gave it the humour I was wanting.  I hope you enjoyed my project and I would love to know which card was your fave!
